Chrome handlebars and steer head top.

Post by dbarker »

Hi, I don't like the chrome bits(handlebar, bar clamps, and steer head) Is there an aftermarket company that makes black ones?

I did this a while back bikerz accessories. And used a Yamaha R1 caliper plug to dress up the center nut. The long bar in center was added, cut down to fit a clock and painted black and later replaced with a Koso electrical RPM gauge. I also cut down the adjustable height clamps and modded the windscreen to allow a more forward and lower (2" lower and 1.5" further forward than gthe stock chrome handlebar) to put a little more weight on the front wheel and a less 'sit up and beg' riding position. It feels roomier now and the handling benefitted slightly into the bargain.

Nah, I'm not one to wait around for others. It's rattle can 'Krylon max', it has a primer built in. Its been well over a year now and holding up well. I used 320 grit wet and dry before painting to give it some 'purchase'. If it needs doing again down the road I'll simply do it again. I never get bored messing with stuff anyways.

#1 Rattle Can all the way. Cheap and easy (like me) to do and redo.

He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire. -Winston S. Churchill.
That reminded me of another famous political quote

Gladstone said to Disraeli,
"I predict, Sir, that you will die either by hanging or of some vile disease".
Disraeli replied, "That all depends, sir, upon whether I embrace your principles or your mistress."”
