Wind Question

Post by jlhog »

As I have yet to ride my new PCX I was wondering how much air comes thru the gap at the bottom of the windshield? I bought a taller windshield to help block some wind and was wondering if I should fill that gap with something for cold weather riding.

Here is the duct tape closing off my windscreen gap. It cuts down on helmet noise and means I can store light stuff inside the windscreen without them falling thru the gap!

I would say no. Most of the air will strike the screen. Sometimes this will cause a slight feeling of instability at higher speeds.

I have a piece of rigid black foam I was thinking about sticking there to seal it off, but was wondering how much wind comes up thru there.

A lot, just put your hand or arm inside the windscreen whilst riding and you can feel the wind. And when I ride at top speed and dont notice any instability. Only about 67mph anyway so not exactly fast but I do get more speed than with the stock screen.
