WN - I see now why you couldn't find Knollwood or Fenwood very easily.

They are basically beach associations in Old Saybrook.

You would have to really drill down to find Knollwood Beach.

Fenwood Beach is also regarded as Guardhouse Point.

Fenwick is east of Fenwood and is the home of a 9 hole golf course and has quite a history.

On the western side of Knollwood there is another area and beach association called Cornfield Point. It also has quite a history.

This pic is from Knollwood Beach on Rt. 154 looking off in the distance to Cornfield Point Beach.

This pic is from Knollwood looking towards Fenwood . . . you can just about see Long Island rising above the horizon (about 10 miles across roughly).

And another pic from where Fenwood borders Fenwick and the Outer Light is off in the distance just where the Connecticut River spills into Long Island Sound.

Finally the Inner Light at Fenwick on the Connecticut River looking across to the Old Lyme shores.

Hope this gives you a better idea as to what the Old Saybrook shores look like near the river. :geek:

And for no extra charge this is what the Causeway going over South Cove looked like after Storm Sandy in 2012. The State crews had quite a mess to clean up from the flooding.
