2013 PCX Speedometer questions
I don't take my outer cowlings off much. Traditional mechanical speedometers use lubricated rotating cables going into a front wheel hub or something like that. Is this how the 2013 PCX and later series determines speed and mileage covered ?

Its done by electrickery, there's a sensor in the final drive.OldGuywhoTinkers wrote:I don't take my outer cowlings off much. Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

I don't know much about it other than the fact that (a) there's no mechanical cable (having worked in that area) and (b) the speedo works when the bike is run up on the centre stand -- so definitely not sensed from the front wheel.
So I'd say gn2 is right on the money.
