New slow pcx?
Hi guys, I bought a new 2021 pcx 125 last week and I'm not sure it's running right. I've had a couple of 50cc and 125cc bikes a while back, and I'm sure they were faster. Today I was overtaken by 2 50cc bikes, even flat out I could not keep up with them. The bike tops out around 50kph up hill and around 80kph down hill, is this normal?
Re: New slow pcx?
31mph max for a bike that should go well over 50mph? Something is definitely wrong. Return to the dealer and have them inspect it.

Maybe check your brakes to make sure they're not staying clamped on?
Even a 125 should do well over 80 kph...

Re: New slow pcx?
I say check the brakes also. Put it up the center stand and turn the rear wheel by hand then squeeze the rear brake then see if the rear wheel is hard to move or spins freely.
I had this happen to me as well , If hat is the case you may need to remove the rear wheel and make sure the brake pads are seated correctly. Mine was off somehow on the part that moves to spread the brake pads apart and it was stick and the brakes would stay locked up after I used the rear brake.
A pain to get to butt fixed the problem,
I did notice also when I changed out rollers on my variator that they were tight so I used an INDIA stone or knife sharpening stone on the side to smooth out any high spots an inconsistencies in the roller. It worked out just fine. The stone is MUCH more forgiving than if you were to use a file or sand paper
