Post by Kiheikruzer »

I dont know if the photo I copied and pasted took, but has anyone every seen or tried out the dosseret poor passenger back rest?... I am looking for something not too gaudy, but something affective for short rides. This way my G.F. doesn't have to hang on to me like shes hugging a telephone pole.. :o

Squeezed thin?
No photo seen. So, I just googled that backrest. It's used on a Burgman top box. Is that the one you're referring to?

You can't copy-paste pictures into threads, forums don't work that way. ;)

To get the picture on your post, you have to save it to your computer first. Right-click the picture you want to save and click Save Picture As... A window will pop up, pick where you want to save it. Remember where you saved it, then upload the picture into a post from that location using this how-to: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=912

If you get stuck, reply again and we'll get it figured out. :)

From googling that, I think you mean this backrest:

I received one of those on accident when I ordered another backrest. It requires drilling 2 holes to mount. The metal is good build quality, the leather is glued/stitched in place and looks okay. It took about a month to get to the USA, and cost around $90 USD. My wife really liked it, and said it made her feel securely on there. I would have kept it, but I wanted a rack in addition to my backrest. :)

A friend of mine (the one with the highway bars) designed this one. He made a crude template of it from normal iron and had it made by a professional here in Phuket. Material is Stainless Steel, the backrest was also custom made by the guy who modified the seat of my PCX. The price was 3500 Baht (about 120 bucks) in total, and the beast is rock solid. Might be an usable impression for maddiedog ;-)

^ ditto ^ very cool! How is the combo back rest/rack mounted? Are there any (closeup) photos available of the install? Looks like a good quality material used on the seat and rest too. Is it marine vinyl or leather? I know....I'm asking too much (enter greedy looking emoticon here).
