Polisport handguards

Post by tildarama1 »

Hi,

I bought my self some polisport freeflow handguards:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Polisport-Freef ... t+freeflow

I saw a PCX with these fitted (on this forum or CLUBPCX?) and thought they looked pretty awesome.

I went out today to fit them but am having trouble working out how.

Can anyone who has them fitted please assist, possibly with pictures?

It looks as though you may have to 'move' the brake levers and fittings across slightly (1/2 a cm but I was unsure whether this would affect anything so did not attempt it)? I am not very scooter maintenance savy so am unsure as to how to fit them.

https://picasaweb.google.com/oldsaltygu ... 5295602306 (this is where i saw them fitted on a pcx)

THANK YOU

Unfortunately I can't help with your question. However, I think that looks like it would look alright. Do you know of a front view of the hand guards on the bike?

hey tildarama1..
to install the handguards you will have to move the brake lever assy on the left side as well as the right...once the handguards are in place you will have to adjust the mirrors as needed to allow rear view vision... heres a pick of the left side installed showing the switch assy along side the the handguard c-clamp & the brake lever c-clamp

Still not fitted, as I have yet to acquire the correct tool. Also a bit worried about buggering something up!

Ragin' - What tool did you use?

tildarama1...you will need a metric allen wrench to loosen the bolts on the brake lever c-calmp... I don't remember the exact size though

Halfords tools are great. Trust me I've spent more and don't want to talk about it. Halfords professional tools are pretty bloody good.

Hand-guards fitted!

Borrowed tools from my dad (but wasn't going to let him anywhere near the bike to do it himself!)

Bit of adjustment needed to the plastic mounts (odd bit of sanding here and there).

They look pretty AWESOME! And I think Scoot is happy with them too, he has ears and antlers now!

Thank you for your help, Ragin', gn2 and you you :D

Reminds me of the old joke about the pilot announcing "we have arrived at Glasgow airport, would passengers please remember to put their watches back two hundred years"
