Windshield removal

Post by Gingivitis Khan »

Hey everybody,

I haven't bought my PCX yet (but I already have cash in hand). Still doing research. Love this forum and it's answered a lot of my questions. One thing I'd like to know is if it's OK to remove and replace an aftermarket windshield (looking at Givi and Ermax) depending on the weather and the ride? Will that wear out the attach points or cause problems in the long run? I'm thinking it would be great to take it off for casual summer rides and put it on if it's cold and/or raining.

Since everybody's posting pix of their rides, here's a photo of mine. Hope to add a PCX beside it soon.

Welcome to the forum, the windshield attachment points are pretty sturdy. You should be fine switching out your windshield as much as you want to.
My first few rides, I didn't even use my windshield ;)

Hi Gingivitis Khan. What an interesting name! o_O o_O Yes- you can switch it no problem at all. I just put a new windshield on mine but will probably switch back to the small (less noisier) one as we come into summer here in Oz. :)
