New owner from the UK

Post by DAB »

Been thinking about getting a scooter for a while now and finally done it. Should get it early in September. Been riding big bikes for 39 years now, but apart from a C90, in the late 70s always had a clutch to deal with.
Its a red one with a larger Honda screen on it, will be looking to get a large top box (trunk) for it. Anyone got heated grips on theirs? I intend to ride it year round.

Greetings Dab. Welcome to the forum. Be sure to post some pics when you get it.

Regarding heated grips ... you would do well to search though other threads on this forum and what the best way to wire them up is. There is concern that extra electrical drain on the system can be tough on the battery.

Don't think the grips should drain too much. Honda regulators are not the best (VFR regulators are the worst) so using up the power produced should help.

I've got oxford heated grips on mine. They work perfectly. No issues whatsoever

The BMW scooters also have heated seats as an option. Cost more than a mid size car though :(

I've decided to fit these, along with hand guards. Got hand guards on a couple of bikes and found them very good, especially when its wet.

Only thing I had to do was pack out the handlebar weights with a couple of washers and the throttle tube has a few ribs on it that need trimming back
