But personally i couldnt care less about it, so itll be a little bit faster maybe. And probably alot more expensive. I wouldnt be able to ride it anyway not having passed a test
MPG could drop too. Only thing im interested in is different coloured panels

PCX 150?

Post by Alibally »

Personally I don't see the point. I thought a 175 or 200cc would have been better than just a 25cc increase. It might be a but more torquey though with a slight bhp increase. It's above the legal learning limit anyway so how popular it would be remains to be seen.

The appeal of a 150, at least here in the USA, is it would be completely highway legal. That's a definite plus.

I'm not sure what else you'd gain from such a little increase though, I agree. Good news is though, it appears the chassis and body are identical, so we'd see more aftermarket parts! :D

It doesn't sound like much, but raising to 150cc would be very significant.
A 150 cannot meet the European definition of an A2 "Light Motorcycle" which is why the PCX 125 is restricted to 62.5mph.
Remove the requirement to restrict, up the cc to 150 and the max power could easily be increased by 40-50% giving a reasonable chance of 75mph top speed in standard trim, maybe knocking the door of 80mph with some tweaking.
There's absolutely no chance of it ever coming to the UK though :(

The parts will be too expensive to be worth it.
There's also potential difficulties with insurance to consider.

Might be too expensive for you, GN2. You're quite the purist when it comes to bikes.

I'm hoping we see some new stuff.

Hey yogi! Welcome to the forum! Where is it that you are located? Still haven't been able to find information on when/if the pcx 150 will hit the US market. I guess its too soon to know for sure. Its something I would be interested in, but only because its freeway legal. I don't think its a big enough of a difference to upgrade the scooter thought =)

I don't care for it either, or even that black with mauve, but maybe they look better on the street???? I know that I like the white much more now than I did when I only saw a picture.

I'm not a fan of the white on red either, yuck. The black / red looks cool though.
