Custom Seats made in Thailand

Post by kramnala58 »

I stopped by the place in Bangkok where I picked up my seat. They make them for dealers like powerbyPCX. It is pretty amazing at the number of seats that they produce in such a small shop, but it is not untypical for Thailand. Seats for the PCX range from about 1,200-2,000 Thai baht ($38-64 US)

Whoa, that's really cool. I've never seen anything like that before in the USA.

I think it's funny that there's a scooter in one of the photos... But it's not a PCX.

Jealous!
Teasing us again heh kram? :P Nice choices!
Yep maddiedog, if we had shops like this, with prices like that, and given a chance to sit on a few of them before buying...how great would That be?! 8) Shoot! I'd feel like I kid (again/still) walking into a 5 and 10 (five and dime) store! How do you pick just one? Bet you can customize your color(s)/pattern/texture/fabric, etc. right? (Sigh)
kram is gonna say "Yes".....you'll see ;)

You can customise your seat in the UK. It's just that it.
costs a hell of a lot more.

Same same here, you you. About twice + the price! :|
I had a custom made by an upholstery shop in FL for my 2007 MP3. Used 2 marine vinyls, 2 colors/textures, added some memory foam on top of saved stock padding & foam. Stainless steel staples attaching the new vinyl. It was shaved on the sides making touch-down (flat footing) easier. The stock seat was almost 32" high and the customizing brought it down 1.5." That worked! But, to tell the truth, I ended up missing the Stock seat. It had grippy vinyl. On the new, I was sliding forward at stops & that made for backaches. Probably better if I had just removed/reworked some foam and shaved the sides of the stock. But then, I wouldn't have had the better Looker of the two.
Moral of story,....There's more to customizing than meets the eye! Think.....bum'n'back ;)

That looks a top notch job. I'm getting my bike seat recovered (after my cats clawed it!!)

If they do a good job I'm getting the pcx seat done. Something retro based on the c50 cub or something a bit more outlandish like snakeskin

Bizarre thing is that they are based in South shields, where I was born and where I go back regularly to see my old dad
