Riding with L plates on a full UK motorbike licence

Post by Saurabhdutt »

Hi Guys,

Please pardon my ignorance.

I have a full UK motorbike licence and ride my beautiful NC750X.

Just recently I purchased a PCX125 for my local commutes. My wife has just decided to do her CBT. My question is, if I put L plates on the PCX for her to ride and then if I want to ride the PCX then can I ride the scooter without taking the L plates off or do I have to remove them before I ride it.

Its just a bit of hassle to take the plates off and then putting them back on.

Thanks
Saurabh

Technically yes, you need to remove them, but you will be fine leaving them on.
Best thing to do is get the wife through her test.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong
