Getting my new bike today, cannot wait!!

Post by M6AEY »

Hi all

My new PCX is getting delivered tomorrow afternoon and I am very excited. I couldn't afford one last time round so ended up going with a SH125 on a 04 plate that has carried me 10,000 in 2 years but this time round I've managed to get a brand new 2015 model PCX in red. Having seen the black (marmite as the dealer said) I loved the size and feel of the bike. I love 125cc bikes as they are so easy to ride and just work and I'd only ever buy a Honda having spent two years on one. Last weekend I rode from Nottingham to Skegness on the SH and back behind my mates CB1100 and even he was amazed by the pickup.

Only changes I plan to make are adding a screen, I'm not even fitting a top box as IMO the bike looks better without one and I now have a really good waterproof backpack. I really cannot wait, I think the first 600 miles are going to go fast! Only new bike I've ever brought and the most expensive thing I've ever owned (sad but true lol) so it's my pride and joy.

Good to be here and speak to you all soon I hope

Jim :-)

Nice machine.
Many small improvemets over the old one.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

@GN2

I really like that it has LED and a clock. Silly as it sounds but I'm forever looking for a clock tower or a bus stop with one of those displays on them! I've already brought a 12v charger for my phone (another really nice touch) all in all it has to be the best 125cc twist and go on the market. I don't regret going for this over a cheaper 2010 model that I could have got in any colour for £500 less. This is a 3 to 5 year bike for me so another £100 a year over 5 years isn't an issue. You may as well treat yourself now and then. Plus my bum is too big for the old hump back seat!

Yeah I've been waiting for a long time to upgrade. I can't say a bad word about the SH125 but its had a very hard life. I used to travel over 500 miles a week for work and I've never done a thing to it except change the oil and put fuel in the tank. Shock are gone, back tyre needs inflating every 3 days and the back break is mostly for show. That said it's a first time starter and I've never felt scared for my life lol

Yours looks very interesting. Thats clearly not a stock model is it?!?

Lets just say that I have added a few extras to it ;) ... almost all of them cosmetic. Accessories a very inexpensive in Thailand. Check out this link for more pics.

Congratulations, I bet you are very excited. It's going to be very nice.

You mention 125cc in two of your posts but you know the new one is 150cc, right?

Yup. 125's in the UK not 150's, there's no market for them due to licence laws.

Love the seat on the white bike.
I understand parts are reasonable in Thailand.
I visited my son there last year. Saw a few PCXs, but mostly cub style bikes.

Oh, how weird. I had no idea. Well, 125 or 150, either way it will be very nice and fun.

I'm planning some big daylong rides through our local mountains, can't wait to do some real riding on it. Max speed is 55 on all the county two lane highways except where posted (turns, intersections, towns) so it should be fine. Little worried about uphills but we'll see how it goes.
