After my Forza got a front puncture I had it recovered to my local dealer.
I got a phone call today to say that I need new pads front and back as well as a new rear disc as it was down to the metal - after 3k miles?!!
Most of my miles are commuting and that's a mix of carriageway and motorway FFs!
Apparently the rear tyre needs replaced too so after 3k miles I need pads and tyres front and back which with 2hrs labour comes to a grand total of £400!!!!
I will definitely be making asking for some sort of gesture from Honda - am I being unreasonable?
WELL PEEVED
3k miles out of a rear disc and all pads??!!!!

Re: 3k miles out of a rear disc and all pads??!!!!
Do you get a pulsing sensation when braking gently?
Not the abs kicking in, just when braking gently.
If so you have a sticky caliper and a warped disc, common on the SH300 and will also be on the Forza.
Mine has had a new rear disc and pads under warranty.
Obviously the more you use the brakes the quicker they will wear out.

Hey GN - I haven't really noticed any pulsing but I have heard the usual sound of the disc rotating when I wheel it around from stationary.
I can't believe pass would wear out that quickly. I can't even remember the last time I replaced them on my GS.
Is this stocking problem a known issue? I will definitely be making a recourse to Honda if the dealer doesn't bother.

Yes, sticky rear caliper is a common fault on the SH

Well if hat's the case I'm gonna push to have this sorted under warranty.
6k miles on my previous PCX without any such issues.

Just noticed that you mentioned tyre fooked at 3000 miles.
Either the dealer is robbing you blind or you ride like a maniac?

Ask for your old parts. If they tell you they through them out already talk to the owner. Here in the US they must give you your old parts. If they can't prove to you that they were worn out I would not pay.

I did not know this... my mechanic lives on the block and works out his garage. Most the time I hang out during repairs or tune ups, used the same guy for too long... is this a new law?pcx man wrote:Ask for your old parts. The call was made to Honda today who will replace docs and pads under warranty - result!
Thanks to GN for making me aware of the sticking caliber issue. Much appreciated dude.
I haven't visited the dealer so will check out the true issue when I'm there.
Worth a look at your rear disc and pads folks as I certainly had no indication of this happening
