Forza 300 Vs Burgman 200

Post by mikecalderone »

This review was in the http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/ho...o-scooter-test

Closing remarks:

Dropping $5,000 to $6,000 on a scooter means you need to be serious about your scooting, and that’s exactly what you get with these two: legitimate all-around capability and all of the convenience of scooterdom, wrapped up in two refined packages. Choosing between them means deciding what’s most important in your scoot. Because we tend to lean toward performance when reviewing two-wheeled machines, the Forza gets our nod. It’s faster, handles better, and has a touch of quality about it that the Burgman can’t match. It just feels sportier and more invigorating to ride, and we think that’s worth $600.

I think both bikes are good, though when the Burgman 200 came to the United States I compared it to the Burgman 400 that was right beside it at the dealer and I was disappointed. Keeping in mind that I came from riding a 400, the 200 just did not feel as comfortable and I was not happy with the lack of back support for the passenger. The instrument cluster was OK but the 400 looked better. The kick stand on the 200 allowed it to lean too much to the side, and the price was too high for a 200cc scooter.
On the other hand, the Forza had a seat that was comfortable, but it was so wide close to the gas tank area that I could not place both feet flat on the ground while at a full stop, like I could on the Burgman 200 and 400. The bike had good pick up and plenty of room for a passenger to ride comfortably on an extended ride, but the windscreen that comes with it is useless, meaning that you have to order the taller windscreen in order to ride for any distance in comfort.
All in all, they are both good bikes, but I would have to agree that the Forza is more worth the money than the Burgman 200.

I almost bought the Burg 200 a week ago, and it was all about the price... I wanted the Forza, but just couldn't come up with the dollars. Turns out the there was a paperwork problem with the Burg I was about buy... I would have to wait a couple of days... while I was waiting I got my tax return back, and went to a different dealer.....I'm now driving my New Forza...I'm STOKED.
