Looks like there are aftermarket taller windscreens from Puig, Givi, Ermax and Skidmarx as well as a taller from Honda, but they seem to be for the 700X. Will these also fit the 700S, ie are attachment points the same dimensions etc? eg see http://www.nc700.co.uk/index.php?/topic ... all-rider/

Taz there is a few out there for the S but many more for the X as that model was available earlier. Can not have too big a screen on the S as will not look right. I am going to look around for a dark tint that will offer more protection but still suit the naked lines of the S. seen one on ebay.....

Wow, the lowered X looks badass. I really want one even more now. I like lower bikes.

Gah, if only I had more money. I want a silver X, lowered, with a huge windscreen and hard panniers. I would be in heaven.

I had another sit down on a 700S at a dealer. Seat seems too firm and not sure it will be comfortable for touring. Any other opinions on the seat? I imagine its the same seat on the X but on a higher frame but the Integra seat is different.

I thought seat on the s was fine after an hour. Then again i did 650 miles in one day on an sv seat no bother but otbers complain it is a firm seat. Am sure other seat options will become avaliable.
X seat seems a bit different as when testing i felt pushed against tank and thats not the case with the S.

Honda NC700

Post by spongebobnopants »

SoI just looked at one yesterday. I really want the DTC version and have only found one. I can find plenty of manual ones, but this seems like the natural progression for me. I racked up about 6000 miles on my PCX. Hardly been riding this year since its been so hot.

I'll likely be going to get the NC700X DTC tonight. They lowballed me on the PCX, so I might just hang onto it and sell it outright.

Honda NC700

Post by spongebobnopants »

I did it. Traded in the PCX. Still getting used to it. Obviously this is much different, but the PCX is way more nimble. Navigating the cones for my bigger CC license was a world of difference...lol. The DCT is awesome and so is 5x the power.

My PCX had one speed... Full throttle all the time just keeping up with traffic. Thats no longer the case.

Congrats! I'll be doing the same soon, about as soon as I can forget the financial implications and just irrationally do it

Very Cool. Makes me feel a little more comfortable the way they ship these. Day two and already missing my Givi top box and slightly larger storage. Honda's hard case system is close to $1k US when all is said and done... I'll be doing the heated grips for sure since I plan on riding this further into the colder months.

Awesome to see the bike in the crate, Tony. Cool pictures.

Sad to hear about you selling the PCX though. At least you're on to bigger and more fun toys though. ;)

I'd have considered keeping it if I had room, but the dealer offered me $2000 US. and it was ready getting ready for some tires and maintenance. I also saved a few bucks in taxes trading it.

$2000 for trade-in is insane. Most used PCXes over here on the East coast go for less than that.

Nice time lapse man!

I figured that bike would be what I would upgrade to after 2-3 seasons on my scoot. We'll see though. That storage would be a bitch to give up. :P
