LunaSee light kits

Post by maddiedog »

Extra visibility is always a good thing, right?

I think this is a cool idea, way overpriced though: http://www.lunasee.com/?page_id=510

And a video of it on bikes:

It's basically an LED kit (UV) that shines on glow-in-the-dark tape. I'm thinking of replicating the effect with glow-in-the-dark white paint on my rims, with UV LEDs. Might look cool, might look weird. Thoughts? ;)

Definitely a great idea to make bikers more visible and safer, not sure about the vid on their site, not a good impression doing burnouts lol

Defo good for visibility.
Would I get it?
No.
Why?
'Hey guys look at me! can I be in the next Fast and Furious movie now? PLEASSEEEEeee...!'
'Dude, its a scooter..'
'So... Nevermind'

Wondering if LED valve stem lights would be effective, and much less expensive?

I like it but not for $200, I would probably spring for $80

Adding visibility is always a great idea for anyone that rides in the rain or at night. Diy reflective tape on the rims is easy and cheap. Glow tape is also a cool idea. I wonder how long it lasts? The helmet is the most visible place but a small area.
