2017 Model Forza, Will it exist in the USA ???

Post by JetPilot »

On Honda's website, I do not see anything about 2017 model Forza. Will they be selling it here in the US next year ??? If so, will it be exactly the same, or any updates ??? The Honda PCX had some nice changes for 2016, I am hoping they do the some upgrades for the Forza also.

Well... the headlights are better. For the rest, I can't be sure.

Probably not much. Just the LED lights, idling stop, the smart key, car charger, and a little smaller engine (149cc) lightened piston, etc...
Everything looks better from the inside of a motorcycle helmet...

General LED model oriented features have been around globally since 2014.
Idle stop has been on non-US models since it's inception in 2009/10
Keyless remote start is not on US models. But they get a handbrake!

So my tongue-in-check reply to the OP of blue paint, still stands.
Nothing has changed since the 2015 model in North America.
If there ever is a Forza refresh you will most likely see it in the Asian markets first.

No, seriously. The lights on my new 2017 are better than the ones were on my 2015.

On my old scooter I had to get off the scooter and look at them directly to see them. On the new one, I see the beams on anything that's in front of me.

Perhaps the old ones lit up the road better, but I don't ride much at night so I'm more concerned about my visibility, which is clearly better on the new one.

It may be the aiming or a headlight strength, there is no diff ,equipment -wise, in the 15 and 17.....

I believe the Forza 300 will be discontinued, no new ones built after November-ish.
Part of the Euro4 cull.

Why do you think this ??? Is there any reason it would not pas Euro4 ??? The Honda Foza one of the latest designs, fuel injected, catalytic converter, same engine as the massively produced CB300 series... I just do not see any reason why Euro4 would be any problem for this scooter.

Because there have been reports that UK dealers have been telling prospective customers that the Forza 300 is to be discontinued.

Wait till Eicma and see what that brings, if anything.

They have them locally new for 4299 with ABS, plus whatever fees you can talk out of at my dealer. I test rode the bike once, its the smoothest motor I have ever rode on any mc or scooter. The handling is average to me, at 422 lbs its about 50% heavier than a PCX. I would have bought it if it was lighter.

I was hoping to get a new, updated 2017 Forza, that his HORRIBLE if they discontinue it.

WEIGHT: I looked real hard at the PCX with the same thinking, because 420 pounds for a scooter seemed ridiculous. Doubling the power more than makes up for the extra weight, and with its low center of gravity, and great handling, the weight makes ZERO difference unless you are trying to carry it upstairs to your apartment ;) People that buy the Forza have actually like the weight and how it affects handling on the road. If you are not going to pick up a scooter, weight makes little difference. Handling, comfort, performance, and the way it rides is everything. I like to ride long distances, 8 hours at a time. The PCX was a bad idea on the highway and I am glad I did not get one, the fact that PCX does not have ABS is a deal killer for me. I will get a Forza, its just a matter of 2016, or 2017 which I was willing to wait for.

4299 is an amazing price !!! I got quoted 7000 out the door from the Honda dealer here, I obviously will not be purchasing there ! I am a very experienced rider of many bikes, but ABS is an absolute requirement for me, it is as much of a piece of safety equipment as a Helmet is. I passed on a non ABS Forza I could have picked up for 1900 dollars that only needed easy plastics repairs, I do not want a non ABS Forza at any price. ABS will pay for itself many times over in first accident it prevents, and has so many advantages it would take me an hour to list them all.

I am surprised at how often the Forza NEEDS ABS. It is a heavy machine and needs a fair bit of brakes to stop suddenly. It has virtually no engine braking compared to my DR650.

The DR650 used to lock up the rear wheels when I used it on the road and so did my KLX250. The Forza does not do any skidding like my dual sports. My Yamaha BWS was hard on brakes also but they were only the size of a Canadian dollar coin.

The ABS might be kinder on the rear tire compared to a non-ABS Forza. I don't understand why Honda even made a NON-ABS Forza?

I am the owner of Forza 2015 from Croatia...about rumours that production of Forza will be terminated...few days ago, when I go to local Honda dealer and talk with him,he also told me,that he heard that Forza will not be produced any more.I was also trying to find anything on internet about that but not a word of it...I guess that this rumour is true because he is Honda dealer after all and can know better all about it.

Maybe lack of sales for different reasons - it seems the Forza was plagued with reliability issues (brakes, fuel pump, etc, etc) and now it may not meet new EU requirements for our part of the world. Honda will probably stay with the Forza 125, but hopefully we will see new models come into the market.

How about a 350cc CVT single clyinder scooter bike with minimal plastic
better suspension aka mono shock rear- retain under seat storage
low seat height
and throw in disc brakes front and rear
and keep it lite

They have had 3 model years to do that already.
