Oops. Famous last words. On the motorway returning from work, belt snaps, get home in a recovery truck. That got replaced…then a week or so later, going to work on a Monday afternoon, fortunately just before joining the motorway, and with a layby to get out of the traffic, it just died, won't start again. Cue a three mile walk home, then a month of PCX-free life as the issues were (eventually) resolved. Finally got her back today. ECU replaced (£40 used one rather than £468 new), and whatever gremlins were in the wiring have been expunged. Variator was on its last legs as well, now replaced. 50,252 miles, now ready for more.

Fired up 1st press of the starter (although it is on a battery tender). Still runs sweet and has given no bother.

Everything stock? no rebuilds whatsoever? Which oil are you using specially for winter?

It's had oil changes every 4000km throughout it's life. Burns a little oil with city running but burns more at wide open throttle (but no real change over past 30,000km). Current estimate is that it probably averages 800ml of oil burned every 4000km (exact amount depends on the running it's had). In reality that equates to checking it after I fill up with fuel with (perhaps) 1 or 2 spot checks inbetween depending on how fast I've been going.

I use Motul 5100 4T 15W50 year round.
