Paint Stick

Post by Calculon »

Hello Everyone -

I just passed 400 miles today and I was cleaning off the scooter after finishing the ride when I noticed there was a small chip in the paint. It's very small. You need to bend over to even see it, but I'm glad to get that out of the way. I got to wondering if there's some kind of paint stick or something else I could use to touch it up? thanks for any help.

My understanding is that red is the absolute worse color to try to match, and that's why it can be difficult to find.

That doesn't stop Honda from preferring red. Almost all of their various models have at least one shade of red.

Calculon,

Please add your location so that we can help you better, since we are an international forum and different areas have different colors. A red PCX in the United States is not the same shade of red as one sold in the UK, for instance.

Thanks in advance.

Now that we have your location all we need to do is find some paint at a reasonable price. The problem with buying the Honda touch up pen is the price. They want $32 or more for those. For a PCX the replacement panel costs that much, and for a Forza the panel is about twice that. That is a lot of money for a very small amount of paint.

Call the guys at automotivetouchup.com , I buy a lot of paint in them and I’ve never had a problem with them matching it once I gave them the mfr paint code.

Also any hi-end body shop that has a computerized mixing system from a major players like PPG, Securit, Sikkens, Or BASF, can match it for you using paint samples they mix....Once they get it right they just make you up a aerosol can or touch up paintbottle.
