Out for a ride yesterday, and had this happen on the way home.

Let out some air and limped home. Tire was stock Dunlop - 5 years old with 10,900 km.

Plenty of tread left but.....

MCG2 is ordered, one day delivery.

Never seen that before. Just looked it up online. A tyre blister, isn't it? The internal rigid structure of the tyre got damaged?

Bumpy ride eh?

Wow!!!

I never saw that happen on a motorcycle or scooter tire but have seen it on retreaded tires for cars or trucks.

Perhaps you rode over a surface that had something on it that broke the inner structure of the tire . . . like a piece of road debris or a sharp rock thus allowing air to work it's way into the outer most tread layer and blister/bubble.

Either way you are OK and that's what counts. :D

You can always get another tire but not another life.

Even if there is plenty of thread, the age of the tire is what matters. Chances are it was old stock and started to break down...

That's wild though. Glad it didn't cause a wreck.

Geez...that's one heck of a cord failure. The Dunlops that came on mine were trash, but they never did that.

Yikes! Looks like that Dunlop got a hernia.

Or expecting. There’ll be two or three trailer tyres due any day now...
