Big Brother to PCX

Post by clevelandscooter »

I thought this was interesting, looks like the big brother to the PCX the forza 300 is coming state side, really bears a close resemblance to the pcx150, i wonder what they look like side by side. Pricey but maybe that is what I'll get after 5 years on the PCX!

Wow that really does look like a PCX. Pricing is not bad when you compare it to the various 300 cc versions of the Vespa.

I love the look. If we can get a good windscreen it is worthwhile for use to look at it. Does anyone know if it is a single or a twin cylinder bike?

I am glad that Honda is filling the midsize gap. Though the fact that I can go 60Mph with my fatass and almost get 100Mpg makes me think that I will be happy keeping my Pcx.

Hey Mel, its definately a single cylinder scoot.

The Forza was supposed to go on sale in the UK this month but launch date has slipped and Honda have not set a new date, just a vague "Summer 2013".

So I'm really close to getting the PCX150 and then I see this news today! Just might have to wait a few months I guess and take a look at it!

So far, I've seen a couple of those Forza 300 on the move in my town. Surprising that they aren't selling it in the UK yet.

You wouldn't happen to know the Forza's price in Spain?

I just checked Honda Spain's web and the price is not listed. The model is there, but no price. I was pretty sure that what I saw were 300s (the shape of the bike is different than the 250) but this puts me in doubt. I'll ask the dealer, though ;) .

The engine is from Honda Wave. Like the PCX, made in Thailand.

Honda US says:
2013 PCX $3449 153cc 286lbs 102mpg
2014 Forza $5599 279cc 422lbs 68mpg
Without HP numbers, it’s hard to compare power-to-weight ratio, but at a glance PCX has the advantage.
If the PCX left me wanting more speed the Forza would turn my head. But aside from one time climbing a steep hill, the PCX has always offers more than I want.
A regular highway user will appreciate the heft of a larger bike.
Average PCX riders get 10% less MPG than Honda advertises. That makes Forza surprisingly thirsty. 61MPG? No thanks.

OTOH, it would be nice to think my bike has a larger engine than my lawnmower. (158cc) :o

I like it OK and I suppose it will grow on me more as time goes on. Seat height is an inch and a half lower than PCX but it weighs 1.5 PCX.
