2022 Honda PCX 160 gets ‘sporty’ edition in Thailand

My next door neighbor just bought one of these new 2022 PCX 160 Sportive Ride, a sporty edition of the 160cc scooter. I have to admit the new black and red colors look great. I do like my flat red colored scooter a little more.

I was surprised to see a new addition so quickly. I haven't even got 500km on my new (now old) bike. It says there is slightly more storage space but otherwise exactly the same.

Looks cool. Is the rear wheel smaller or still a 14"? Looks small but it may just be the perspective.

The fact of an existing 160cc pcx with rear disk brake sounds amazing but doesnt make any sense that this particular model has slightly more storage area since is the same bike in terms of platform. That would be super strange. Tbh i think it's just the regular 160cc with more flair on it

Sad tho, that those models will not be ever available in Europe due to taxes, and drivers license categories because of engine power. Take in mind that as far as I know in Germany bikes up to 125cc/11Kw don't pay co2 tax and this is also the limit for the A1 - B196 Driver's license. (the same probably happens in all Europe)

That's why you can see there's no options in between 125 and 300cc bikes just because isnt worth paying for this. people just prefer leap ahead to bigger engines. And that's why honda offers the forza, imagine the pcx in this market for a little more money.... That obviously will cannibalize the forza specially the 125 with its 15hp limit.

Definitely looks smaller to me. And would actually explain the slightly larger trunk space.
