ADV 150 battery light

Hi Folks,
About 5-6 months ago (in the first year of buying it new) the battery light stayed on until I rode a while then switched it off and back on at which time it went out, just low battery from not using much was what I thought.
However after many such repeats of the same thing I removed the battery and charged it fully and re-installed it. The first crank had no light but hey presto the light came back on later that day, I've repeated the "out charge in routine" a few times and the battery is always showing 12.3v + in the bike and 14.5v when riding.
I have seen videos about battery light staying on in Malaysian YouTube videos with shop/techs saying the bike works carry-on.
Has anyone had the same symptoms and found a fix for it or know if there is something in the circuit that monitors the battery?
Even on long rides 2hrs+ the light comes back on after a short stop and restart.
Andy.
