Reupholstering My PCX Seat In Alcantara

Post by NSX 3.0 »

Just picked my PXC up this past few months and love it but hate the seat hump. Only got about 100 miles on it but it feels like I'm being pushed forward and that hump needs to be removed or moved back a tad. I decided to re-cover it in Alcantara also my friend sells this stuff it's the real deal right from Japan. Getting the cover off was pretty easy and the hump only had two bolts the hump cushion is just glued to the plastic piece. I just marked the hump as far back as possible and shaved the back of it and used contact cement to glue it back on without the plastic piece. It made a huge difference for me much better IMO I'm 5-10 170lbs now I just need to come up with A design to sew the cover on using Grey Alcantara with Red stitching will post pics with progress.

The seat cover will come off easily enough. It's only stapled on. Interested to see what you with the alcantara. I'm having another bike seat done, if it works out OK and some of the things they seem to do are excellent if they do a good job in thinking of something retro in the c50 mould or something leftfield in alligator or snakeskin vynil

Last weekend I spent some time reworking the plastic base of the seat, so the protruding bits on which the hump was bolted, were away. Now it's in the upholstery shop... And I'm looking forward to seeing the result. I'll post some pictures of the plastic work and the end result later on!

Forgot all about this post I started here are pics of the finished product much better than OEM. Moving the hump back 1 1/2 inches is perfect much more comfortable .
