Has anyone thought of increasing engine to 175cc?

Have any of you thought about increasing the engine size on a PCX 150 to 175cc? This might be a foolish question. I have no idea how hard it would be and I would have to pay someone to do it if I had it done. Any thoughts?

I thought about that, but after considering all costs I came to the conclusion, that it would be cheaper to:
- upgrade my driver's license to "big" bikes
- sell PCX
- buy a second hand bike/scooter with 400-500 cc engine :)

it is actually a very achievable project, check out the kits from sp takegawa (169cc) and yuminashi (175cc).

I've been PM'ing PCXdemon back and forth about this -- he did a bore kit on his PCX and easily cruises at 120kph / 75mph and maxes out at 140kph / 87mph.

With the way the PCX fits me so comfortably, and how my dog can ride it perfectly (she has trouble riding tank, and larger scooters don't let her look around as easily), I've been toying with the idea of making my 125 highway capable and my only bike. If I do it, I'll do full how-tos with pics, direct before / after performance comparisons, etc.

Thanks much for your reply's. It seems to me a 175cc would be a win win all the way around. If I had a choice between a PCX 150 and PCX 175 new from Honda I would buy the PCX 175, put better shocks on it and drive it until I wore it out, then buy a new one. Ride safe my friends.

This is why I would rather do a project like this (minus the dog part) instead of getting a bigger scooter. The PCX150 feels just right. It only needs a bit more power, thats all. Plus I'm a hefty 250 pounds. I'm certain the Thai designers did not have me in mind.

I have thought about it but probably wont do it myself.
After installing 11.5g sliders and a 1mm spacer, I am happy with the performance up to 110km/h
My next upgrade will most likely be a gear set which will bring my top speed to 140.
But, if I wanted more power, I would certainly do an engine upgrade.

I agree with the others who have said that the PCX is just right in terms of ergonomics etc.
A larger scoot just won't be so fun to ride.
