Honda start to lowering the prices on old PCX model.

Post by Ton1984 »

During the look of the new model came across a deal that reduces the price of the old model PCX 125 to 2,399 pounds. When unfolded this installment we have only 69 pounds a month in equal installments for three years, so it's a very good price if someone does not depend on the new model.

Many dealers offering similar deals for a while, but most I checked were pre-registered but zero miles - meaning the dealer is the first owner and you will be the 2nd. Silly, as it's new and no miles, but it's how many dealers operate. Great deals though if you are happy with the older model - and most people will love it.

The only other slight snag with the pre-registered bikes the dealers had - is that the 2 yr warranty and AA deal started when they first registered it, so you may lose from weeks to many months of warranty before it leaves the dealer.

That's $3989.00 U.S. Dollars. What year? Seems high to me for a previous or older model 125? Guess our prices differ big time here in the states??
Was the 2,399 pounds OTD pricing?

Yes.
That's the pre-haggling price, actual price paid could be lower.

I heard that prices in Thailand are often half that elsewhere - manufacturers charge what they can get away with. Even where US/UK is concerned and with a $1.5 to the £, we would pay the same figure! At least the 2014 pricing is roughly the same as the 2013 pricing for newer models - only the SH seems to have gone up about £100 on last year.

I read that to be the Thailand equivalent in £UK's, as they are much cheaper there. One Thai site I just checked suggests 69,000 Baht which is about £1350!

For any UK buyers I can recommend Hunts, bought everything I needed through them when I bought my pcx a couple of years ago. Great service and nice friendly people who didn't mind stupid questions from a new rider...

£2100 is a good price, that's less than when it was launched in 2010.

Produced in Thailand so they are cheaper as they don't need to be shipped, also market forces dictate they can't charge as much because bike sales are huge in Thailand. Sterling has become much stronger in the last year (10%+) so when converting baht to pounds it would seem much cheaper without taking into account such a large currency fluctuation. Also have to factor in the VAT, 7% vs 20%.
