Dunno.

What weights were you using before? Hell, what speed were you getting before the change?

Not sure why that would go down unless your new belt was more narrow than your old one.

Or maybe get a 125 with more bhp. Just would like all your opinions . Thanks all and great site.
You don´t need to use WOT or the PCX´s top speed to legally and safely ride on a motorway. Just don´t expect to overtake anybody.

Nice cruising speed on a 125 PCX would mean around 55 - 60 mph at 85% - 90% throttle, engine not sounding like its being tortured. When you come to a lorry doing 50 mph, use your own judgement if you will sit behind it or pass it as you will take ages - remember the turbulence when passing and traffic from behind. Car drivers will usually see the lorry and try to move over long before they hit you, so I usually choose to sit behind it at some distance.

I used it a few times even two up down the M4 to go to London, nice ride on a sunny day and at 100+mpg, no way anybody can do it cheaper.

Heavy truck traffic on divided highways in the USA runs at 65 minimum, 68 average. Cars average 72mph. A stock PCX150 with 1,000 miles on a broken in driveline will hit 64mph at the rev limiter if there is no wind. It doesn't really hurt the bike, but it can't keep up with the slow lane.

Same in the UK.
A PCX 125 cannot keep ahead of trucks, it just isn't fast enough.

Are you in the same United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland where I live? If so, there is a 60mph speed limit strictly enforced even with tachographs. I have not seen a stock PCX doing less then that and most lorries even do 50mph.

I have never ever had an issue going from Reading to London on the M4 with the PCX and I have seen plenty of PCX on continental European motorways - even German Autobahns without a speed limit.

A stock 2011 PCX125 will quite often redline at 59 mph after the belt has broken in for a few thousand miles. Now even the governed trucks are trying to inch past you at 60.

Our pcx 150 goes on the freeways sometimes and tops out at 67 mph, but then it has absolutely nothing left, and any hill or cross wind will lower that significantly. Still, if we stay in the slow lane we can legally travel on the freeway. Our pcx is an esp model, but people with the non-esp model 125s can top out close to that, plus they have a BBK for those which will bump them up to 170cc. At 170cc they can easily keep up with traffic. However, keep in mind how light these scooters are. Big trucks or heavy cross winds force you to spend your time fighting for control.
Currently own:

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Yep, cross winds and turbulence from passing lorries are an issue, but I hope that it will get better with the larger tyres. I don´t ride the PCX WOT, 55 to 60 mph is usually enough to keep up with traffic in the slow lane and the scooter sounds all right. I don´t do long rides cross country or so, just an hour down the road and on the M4 I usually have to slow down cause traffic is only doing 50.

Its possible to do it, I even did it with the wife in the back and it did feel much more stable two up . I just would not want to pass anybody unless its a calm Sunday afternoon without much traffic as it can take ages to pass.

I never seem to have any fighting for control. I was in a hurry to make it to a shop before they closed and rode all the way home on the super highway the other day. My new vario and belt with the sliders redlines at 71 mph on the flat and I might not quite hit redline at 68 into a wind. So I was running pretty fast all the way home. 37 miles and I got passed dozens of times but buffeting and crosswinds mean nothing to me. Buffeting is really no worse than my Ninja650 that I rode today and is a very heavy bike at 470 pounds. I ride through thunder storms, you name it. No big deal. There are a few tricks to the trade. You have to lean down, preferably behind a Givi mid windshield so your body is not getting blown off to the side. And do not have stiff arms on the bars yanking yourself upright in the high speed wind. Even in very strong crosswinds, the PCX just leans itself into the wind to hold the headlight right on line while the wheels swing back and forth to make any correction.

A PCX can't sustain 60 once it gets some miles under its belt.
Mine struggled to an indicated 60 downhill by the time the belt was 6000 miles old.
Introduce a slight rising gradient, of which there are many in Scotland, and the speed drops off.
Add a headwind and it can be a struggle to maintain 40 nevermind 60.

I found a small belt factory here in PT. They can make any size and type.
What do you guys think of having a custom belt made, 1mm wider than stock?
Should solve the problem, no?

I mean the top speed part.
Since I replaced the variator with Malossi and 11gr rollers - the wind and small hills have become a liiitle bit less embarassing.
Top speed 120km/h (no wind), but only on a relatively new belt.
After that speed goes down to 106km/h and sits there. Which is where I'm at right now. Sad story.
Even so, enough for the trucks, BTW. They do a strict 100km/h.
I ordered a Malossi belt but I know it won't last too long. Having a custom one made for me sounds really cool. They got all the new tech and stuff.
