Going round a roundabout this morning scraping the centre stand and I wondered, just how close am I to losing it?

What are peoples opinions? I know rain, dirt on the road etc. makes a difference but really the side of the stand is about to become a pivot when it gets dragged on the ground.

I've scraped it a couple of times on a certain roundabout with a lot of camber, scared the crap outta me the first time. I try not to now though cus I wonder the same thing as you.

Stand scraping sounds much worse than it is.
You would have to clout it really hard to lift the back wheel off the deck.

I've scraped mine a good bit too. Wouldn't worry too much. Just try not to hit a pot hole I guess lol

Today I leaned a little too far over to the right when going round a roundabout. I don't scrape my centre stand any more - It's been ground flat by the hitting the road too often. But today I got a loud hollow plastic scraping sound and the rear wheel slid away form below me. Got my attention I can tell you. Stood the bike up before I lowsided and continued on OK.

Checked the panel and sure enough its worn through the paint. Just going a little faster than normal resulted in this :( You can see the black mark on the edge. I don't know how many degrees this was but I'd like to know.

I see my exhaust is rusting again.

Well that sucks. I scrape my plastics too from turning to hard on turns. Especially if there's a bump lol. At least my exhaust isn't rusting...
