Iron Butt on a PCX?

Just curious, has anybody done an Iron Butt ride on a PCX yet? For those that don't know what an Iron Butt is, it is a documented 1000 mile ride in less than 24 hours. I think I need to try one on this little scooter one of these days.

That'd be torture. What speed do most people average on that ride anyway?

If you allow 4 hours for comfort, fuel and rest stops you would have to average 50 mph. That ain't easy to do with traffic and traffic control devices. The computer on my car says my average speed is 37.8 mph. That includes a mix of city and highway driving.

I think I read on a post somewhere on these forums that Dave Maddiedog did 600 miles in a day, or was it 800? The most I have done is about 1,700 in 32 hours, but that was in a cage. I can't imagine doing it on bike in such a short period of time. At least in a cage with cruise control you can move your legs and stretch a bit. It would be pretty hard on a PCX, especially with a 6'1" frame.

I have done many 1000 mile days on larger motorcycles set up for touring. It is not torture if set up right. I am not sure how to set up a PCX150 for touring. Maybe just grab a credit card, cell phone, and a bottle of ibuprofen and go,,,,,,

The problem I see with that is the short range on the fuel tank for the PCX. Figuring 150 miles between fillups, that is 6 stops to fill up and rest. Some how I can't get the figures to work out for one of those rides on the little PCX, though I guess someone will try.

Any updates?

Longest sub-24-hour ride I've heard of was that guy by the handle Pozo, who rode from DC to Montreal: 640.5 miles in 21 hours and 57 min

This post header made me laugh out loud. It could be funnier if it read 'Iron Butt on a Scooter'

Easy to pop another 5l in an approved container under the seat - that would get it down to 3 or 4, or even strap a 20l in the pillion position with ratchet straps (getting a bit dicy in the event of an accident though).

Most I've done on the PCX is about 535km in one day - and that was a pretty long day.

My longest ride was about 800 miles over two days.
Lots of fuel stops, thanks to the small fuel cell.
I'm getting a couple of 750ml fuel cans to put on the scoot for some extended range.
The most interesting fuel situation was finding out a town on the map
didn't have a gas station. I was running low on fuel and it was 25+ miles to the nearest gas stop.
I slowed down to 45mph and rode into town with the low light blinking for the last few miles.
Yeah, it took 1.6 gallons to fill it up. I was running on fumes, for sure!! LOL!!!

I did an iron butt on my K1200RS in 2002, up the left coat of Florida. I can't imagine this on a scooter, the 1200 was fun, the pcx would be torture.

I did my 1,000 on my CBR250R. There is another thread here by someone on a Forza.

I have gone 172 miles in one day. It should be more aptly named "Numb Butt" instead of Iron Butt!

There is a neat article in the September issue of Rider magazine by a guy who rode his CBR250R from Manhattan Beach, CA to the Adirondacks in NY. The bike performed great for him. If I was twenty years younger, I might be tempted to try it myself.

Bill Dog, over on the Modern Vespa forum has done 10 iron butts on either a GTS300 or a Kymco Downtown 300, the last 2 were done in one weekend about a month ago.
