guess i'm stuck with wind noise,
unless I can get some sort of form to go around the mic bit.

Worth a try

Meant foam, not form...
but yeah, we'll see,
it comes with a Waterproof case as well though,
the Camera itself is splash proof so might just connect that to my Helmet,
instead of using the bulkier Case...
getting it today from Amazon Prime (love it!!) so will see.

@ jojo87 which New Sony (model) did you buy? Was it a bundle deal?

To all: I was online this morn at Bestbuy and Costco. Ya'll have these stores across the pond? Anyways...
....at Costco they have a Sony advertised (Oct 2014 release date) model: Sony HDR-AZ1VR "bundle" available to members only for: $299.99
This one: http://www.costco.com/.product.10016208 ... onXg%3D%3D

What's are your thoughts of that one? I also want to know How you get around Not Hearing all the wind noise being picked up as you ride  (haha!...I know you're tempted to say, "turn the microphone off" -- you buncha hooligan's! )
What if? "I" want to do ALL the talking? (a fault of mine ;) I won't want noise interrupting me. (Say cheese-y me).
Joking aside, me Birthday's nearing and a very good action camera would make a fine prezzie :D
Sony, or perhaps a Replay model?

I did have the AS30v
really nice camera, light, and I prefer the shape a lot better to the GoPro etc,
never had any issues with it, picture and sound was good,
APART from wind noise, that was a bugger, never really found a solution for it.

I just bought the one you linked, the AZ1....
the Camera and the Live View Remote
was £228.47 total.

Camera itself looks a lot nicer than the AS30v I had, obviously a lot smaller too,
but yeah.. no ports, so no external Mic :-(
I can't try it out in the wind until I get my Bike back,
but i'm hoping maybe they've upgraded the Waterproof Case so there's less wind noise,
if not, i'll Google and try and find something..
(you'd expect an Action Camera to be good when it comes to wind noise)

I like the fact that even in it's Waterproof Case, it's still smaller than the previous model I had,
only thing I don't like much is how the Live View Remote looks,
its big and chunky and a lot of wrist support/straps,
I have really small wrists so it's a bit of a pain...
but once I get my Bike, i'm going to see if I can use the 3M Dual Lock (which I use to mount the Camera to my Helmet)
and mount just the Live View itself to my Bike (minus the support and straps)

Overall, really nice Cameras, again, prefer them a lot more to the GoPro Cameras, even the Drifts.

Ah ha! You bought the one I was just looking at. What a coincidence, 8) so many out there! I like that this camera is smaller than some of the other Sony's.
Yeah I agree, you Would Think an "action" camera would have a built in filter (?) of some sort to cut out wind noise. Is this Possible?? Too bad your newbie model is missing an external mic port, you wanted one :| Hey! So Who told you it was the newest Sony model? The salesperson? I thought I read that it was last October's release? Whatever. As far as the wrist remote/viewer, it does look clunky. Even on the website's today I thought that. If you Can mount it where it's easy to safely use-n-view, I'd do that too. Keep us posted on that and how you like it. Oh, and Thanks jojo for all the pics n videos you always provide ;) Cheers!

Made a little idiot compilation video considering I still haven't got my Bike back yet to get new footage.... and I don't want the channel to die or lose subscribers.

I must say, the wind noise is absolutely crazy!
thinking of what I can use to pack into the front of the Camera casing to block some of the noise,
just sorting the clips now for my Video I did earlier,
Camera only records about 1:30 though and then dies,
I bought an extra battery but it doesn't seem to charge in the Camera :-/
the Jackets really nice as well,
bunches up a bit much no the front, but it's really comfortable,
and even though it's hot today, I didn't feel hot at all, really nice Jacket!

jojo87 - typical idiots on the road, which is why I take few chances and play safe. I wasn't prepared for that bit at the end when the driver turned into you! (I actually shouted out F*** S*** at work and many turned round :)

Yeah it was a bummer Iceman, the hassle since has been crazy!

lol found this funny when watching it back...
at 4:37, I was going slow anyway but at the time I didn't notice how the girls ran,
watching it back to edit for YouTube, it made me laugh...
but yeah, I was going slow, so no danger, just looks funny in slow motion :)

A lot of the roads look way too narrow and then they park on them blocking one lane.
