Yesterday I changed the transmission oil using a syringe, and it was extremely easy. Thanks for the advice! ;)

Syringes are really useful. Vets can be a good source.

No other way to really get in there and get the right amount of gear oil in. Far too messy otherwise. Excellent advice right there.

To the OP, you can use gear oil if you really want to, but why go to the expense unless you have it on hand already. The reason you're getting differing opinions is that the answer really is all of the above.

Honda has a habit of making vehicles with very high tolerances for screwing around with engine and gear lubrications, at least in their smaller bikes. When the supercub first came out, they ran it (across Australia I think), with fry oil in the crankcase. No issues. Crazy stuff right there.

You can't post something like that!! What spec of fry oil, FA,FB or F all friction modifiers? Synthetic or peanut and will my Honda dealer have it.

I'll never sleep again.
