Hello Guys!!

I am George from Greece and I have a 2012 PCX 150 with 8.700 km in it,I bought it used about a month ago.

Today I got on the bike in the morning to go pick up a friend about 4 km away, everything was ok.I picked her up we went 100 meters and stoped on a red light,it turns green,i start and in less than 50 meters the engine stops,it keeps rolling and i park it on the side,I try to start it and nothing, all the lights and organs worked normal but when I pussed the start button nothing,no sound at all.

We got it in a mechanic, they checked somethings but they got nothing yet,I was there for a couple of hours and they couldn't find what was wrong and still after about 5 hours nothing, they closed and they are going to continue tomorrow.

The battary was fine, they checked the side stand and some cables under the seat in the front and they didn't find something wrong.

All the services have been done in time and in authorized mechanics.

Do you have any clue about what could it be wrong?Every idea is helpful.

Thank you!!

Electrical... I'm going with electrical on this one. Sounds crazy but I bet two cigarettes

Does it have the idle stop and is it turned on? I think that would be tough on the starter.

Yes the idle was on,it stoped on the red light and it started by opening the throtle. When it shut down I turned the Idle off but stil there was nothing from the starter.

Maybe the idle stop went out too possibly but probably the starter since turning it off didn't help.

I think you need to check the plug and see if it is wet with petrol. Could be a fuel problem if dry.

I thought the engine was not even turning over? Starter/electrical if not turning over - something else if it is.

The main thing to understand here is that on the PCX the starter is also the alternator. So if he alternator went out there is no starter.

Also note that just because the lights can come on doesn't mean that the battery is good. Using the start/stop too often could run the battery down just enough that it won't turn over once it stops. Have them tap into another battery and try to start it. You might even have to totally disconnect the original battery when you do this if that battery is too drained because the current coming from the additional battery may just be going into the old battery and not coming back out.

The mechanics checked verything and they said they couldn't find anything. On Monday they are going to plug it in to the PC and let the diagnostics find it.

Sorry I left the topic, the issue was the coils(classic honda problem :( ).They just burned at 8000 km.New ones cost 230 euros and I had to wait about 10 days to come to Greece so I replaced them with used ones from a 4000 km crashed one.
