50/50 Tires for PCX?

Post by tbln930 »

I use my PCX primarily for camping and maybe half of the campgrounds we go to have gravel roads in the campground and gravel around the area. I really don't use the PCX for interstate high speed riding. Can anyone recommend a more appropriate tire they have actually used when a change is required. TIA

Heidenau K66 might suit, comes in two flavours

Regular four season: http://en.reifenwerk-heidenau.com/modul ... =58&pic=60

Winter M+S: http://en.reifenwerk-heidenau.com/modul ... =98&pic=60

No idea if Heidenau tyres are available in the USA though.

Revzilla HAD them is a little more accurate. Their scooter tire selection is pretty depleted at the moment.

It's a bummer because I haven't found any suitable US alternatives for a lot of what they carry.

I've said it before and i'll say it again... bigger tires will work better off road(gravel etc.).
I've gone up dirt trails with the big tires that I couldn't make with the stock tires. (deeper wider grooves I suppose) 8)
But I would like to get some knobbier/more aggressive yet still streetable tires someday. ;)

A member of the forum named rendra is using Michellin M45 dual purpose 110/80-14 tires on both wheels to good results.

I have been running the Pireli Diabo for the past 5000k. They hold fast in the rain where as I had issue with the stock tires.

From what I've seen, there are websites that sell those tires. But they sell the front and rear tire separate.... and there's a bunch of different sizes to choose from for each tire. How does one go about choosing the right size? I'm guessing the tire size is located on my stock tires and I simply just need to go check?

Rear is 100/90-14
Front is 90/90-14

Michelin City Grips are probably the best.

You see them sizes you posted, are they the same for all brands of tyre not just michelin and are they the correct size for a 2014 model? one more thing I have a 125cc.

Your PCX manual should have the recommened tyre size, I had my dealership that provided the bike fit City-Grips front and back, afaik they are the same size as the stock tyres that come on the bike. I have done 1,200miles on them in a month and a bit o_O and in heavy rain, or A-Road cruising they've been brilliant.

I just looked in the owners manual and it looks like I have the correct size finger cross I have or that one expensive mistake.
Its these ones?

They're the right size. I haven't heard any reports on the make though. I believe they make winter tyres in that size as well.
