Well...regardless of the seat discussion sidetrack...I think you're on to something with that new windshield, as I've just ordered one too. It looks way to cool to pass up!

I love this stuff: sonar wheel cleaner with iron dissolver......totally ph neutral......been using it for years

Rims looked great dirty, but found quite a bit of iron flecks for 400 miles, where sonax finds iron, it turns purple.

Followed with spray polymer that spreads with water: CarPro Hydro2....wheels now sealed where you can't wax by hand.....

20 min .....done

Before spray off:

Is there a lot of iron on a scooter?

This is another bikerzbitz seat - I'll mount it today and sell the old seat, if it allows me to push back and sit in the pocket. Say tuned. Nice quality, the CF look I have on other parts of the bike so it's a great match. It is "seat 18" on their site, with white stitching. Took 5 weeks to get here....

I like this seat, so could you also please let me know the seat name or model on bikerbitz, so I can zone in on the right product. Can't wait to see those pictures, as I'm just about ready to move on to the seat mod.

Seats would be found here: https://bikerzbits.com/honda/pcx/seats
Cheers!

Glen I do like this new seat over the one you presently have. This one is a popular choice. I bet you'll like it! By the way, how are the love bugs doing this time of year? I heard The Villages were under attack  I despise them

Really, well that's good news to here. If I ever move back, I'll head south and east. Cheers, & enjoy your coming fall/winter wonderful weather!

Here you go...the "pocket" you sit in, is longer than the stock seat. I fit well at 6' 3" and can stretch a bit ...I'll keep it, white stitching on this bike and CF vinyl look matched too. A nice "OEM quality" add....

That looks sharp! I just ordered & received (yesterday, actually) a BB seat 7 (because I'm tall too, was worried about legroom with those backrests). But I've wanted a backrest seat. Guess I'll rock this seat 7 for awhile and maybe switch it up next year with seat 18.

Good to hear you found one that actually accommodates us taller folk. Looks great on your PCX too!

I have the Sonax stuff too, works well but the smell is so bad the dog won't come outside when I'm washing the wheels.

Dave, What was it that made you revert back to stock seat, it just fit you better?

Yes, # 7 was a bit too hard and #18 bought me just a little too close to the handle bars. I love the look of the #18 but just couldn't get used to the position.

Bikerzbitz hook, goes well with the rest of my handlebar bling...lower white plastic hook removed.

Finally got around to buying the decal set. Came from Bikerz Bits in about 10 days for only £16 including P&P to the UK, happy with that, would use them again. Pleased with how easy they were to fit.

Looks good, these decals have grown on me, and they are very good quality.

Sometimes I wonder with 14" wheels if swapping rear shocks is going to be AWESOME-ALRIGHT-MEH! Choose carefully I might add these shocks to my winter teardown list and eventual review of upgrades.
We are all different as to how we perceive a ride… I personally think that helped quite a bit. For me, it is more stable and recovers MUCH better over speed bumps, which in Florida, are every 50 feet in the planned neighborhoods, which is 90 pct of my riding.
Agreed. I sold a 2001 GSX-R and bought the PCX. On smooth tarmac it's sweet (though you lose low-speed control with no clutch). Uneven concrete roads, a couple of u-turn bridges where I live, are a nightmare now. GSX cruised like a limo around 40-80km/h. PCX bucks like a stuck pig 40-60 and too scary to take the corner above that speed. We're comparing machines 90% different in price (here) 80,000 vs 800,000 baht so it's certainly not fair.

Question: What percentage difference is due to 1. Wheelbase 2. Wheel diameter 3. Front shocks 4. Rear shocks.

Given what we can change, number 4 is a good one to start with. Next up, look at smaller wheels/fatter tyres and more appropriate seat padding maybe.

More just messin around - I noticed when I hang my helmet sometimes the helmet is touching the paint, not good long term for bike or helmet. So a 4x6" piece of 3M paint film protects the paint ( not OCD, selling the bike in 18 months for a new one)

this stuff:

have to take a pic wet, because when its squeegeed out, it is invisible:
