MPG

Post by Branyers14 »

What kind of mileage is everyone getting on their Forza? Mine just passed the 500 mile mark and I am seeing about 62mpg. 90% of my miles are on the freeway doing between 70 and 75mph. Not too bad but I admit I am missing the miserly economy of the PCX.

Mine should be at the bottom of my posts. While riding, I see between 63 and 71.

Trip Computer showed 78.3 mpg today....that's an average over about the last 2500 miles. This is highest it's ever shown. Current warm temps may be helping. That's in town and highway riding, seldom go over 60 mph. I have tall Honda windshield with Laminar Lip and 150/70-13 rear tire.

Mine has averaged 77mpg (64USmpg) over 20,000 miles

Highest I've seen on a single journey of 18 miles was 105mpg, lowest tankful was 69mpg.

Hey gn2, any mechanical issues over those 20000 miles?

I've been averaging right at 68 US mpg, just what honda claims.
US and UK mpg are different, I think the UK gallon is not the same as the US gallon.
This site converts US mpg to UK mpg:
https://www.unitjuggler.com/convert-fue ... tml?val=68
68 US mpg is equal to 81.6 UK mpg.

Oh yes.
Fuel pump recall done (but was still working OK)
Waterpump mechanical seal leak
Warped rear disc
Two failed brake light switches
Transmission needle roller bearing failure
Seized centrestand pivot
Possibility that steering head bearings also on the way out, need to get them looked at

Wow, not exactly trouble-free those miles. You've said nothing reassuring. Any of this stuff replaced under warranty? Maybe I should consider the extended warranty.

The Forza computer says its getting 64.8 mpg in my mostly around town riding. Regarding the mechanical issues I've had the fuel pump replacement, oil light sensor switch (twice) and an oil leak from the 1st sensor switch repair, all were warranty, but still a pain. Running fine at the moment (2,300 miles), but I will consider trading for a Burgman 650 after several thousand miles. I love the Forza when its working, but from what I hear on the forum, and my experience with the scooter, it isn't as trouble free as I expected from Honda.

Gn2 got a Friday afternoon bike. His experience isn't common.

I did about 60 miles last week on A roads, and got mid 90s. Normally (50 mile commute at 65-70 each day on the M5) it hovers around mid 80s. The bike has done 3500 miles and I've just changed the oil.

But not unknown.
There have been a few forum members with waterpump seal failures, sticky calipers, warped discs and bearings will start to fail as mileages increase, same as they did on the PCX.

What do you attribute the warped rotor to? Usually it is caused by excessive heat.

Rear caliper sticking is the cause.
The Honda SH300 has the same set-up and the same problem.

Usually but I once put the wrong bolt into a caliper and torqued it against the disc. Same effect.

Once bitten and all that...

Well with the road conditions you describe, it is no surprise.
