Does anyone have any suggestions for cheapest/good insurance companies in the USA? I know I'm being lazy, but there's so many different companies that it would save me a lot of time if I could get someone's first hand advice. Thanks in advance.

Just curious how much your rates are? I know there's so many variables in the price of insurance, but do you have full coverage? Anything else you can tell me? Thanks.

I have full full coverage... I dont mind telling you. For my zip code, 90020, I pay $599 a year. Sounds like a lot yes? but TRUST me... in my area, its a bargain.

Estimated Annual mileage = 7,000
Useage = Commuting
Storage = $400 limit
Towing = $200 limit
Comprehensive = $300 deductible
Collision = $300 deductible
Bodily Injury = $15,000 / $30,000
Property Injury = $5000 limit
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorest coverage =$300 deductible
$2000 limit on accessory coverage (free)

No accidents, no traffic violations.

I'm under 25 (for 3 more days) so my rate should drop about 25% because apparently when over 25 you become much more mature. Also theres a discount for getting married (will be in 2 weeks). So my rate is going to drop big time. Will probably shop around when the birthday and marriage are taken care of, but in my experience Pacific Specialty has been the best priced by HUNDREDS of dollars while still having an "A" rating with the BBB. <--- IMPORTANT if you ever need to use it.

Also, garaging zip codes help big time.. when I had the scooter insured at my dads house (area code 91214, much better area). My rate was about $375 for the year.

For comparison, to insure my 11 year old truck fully costs $165 a month... To insure vehicles in my area is expensive... but I cant afford to NOT have full coverage...

gotcha. Good luck on your search! Update this thread once you find something. I've had (and used) progressive motorcycle insurance in the past, and have nothing bad to say about the claim experience. I laid my bike down in gravel (no other vehicles involved) and got almost twice what I paid for it. Happy camper. Even bought it back for $500 and fixed it myself. mostly cosmetic damage. Progressive was simply too expensive when I moved back to CA, but I HIGHLY recommend them if they have reasonable rates in your area. I'll also try to remember to update what my premium changes to once I turn 25 and get married!

That's awesome Switta, I know it makes a huge difference that you have so much other insurance through the same company. Where are you located?

thanks for the congrats! We're pretty happy. We're getting the marriage "paperwork" over with this year mostly for tax reasons. We have been together 6 years already but with college and everything, the actual wedding probably will be another year from now. I commute every day on my PCX. About a 30 mile round trip. I've had it since May 2011 and have saved lots of $$ in gas compared to my truck!! We only have the one truck between us and it works out great being a one car couple =]

I just purchased full coverage through Progressive.com: $275 for the year (NJ). I have my car with them as well, which gave me a slight discount, as well as having taken a Basic Rider Course.

Totally stoked - picking up a new candy red PCX150 this Friday!

We have Progressive too, just on our scooters. We pay $80/year for the PCX and $85 for the Burgman with a $500 deductible for collision and comprehensive. It also includes Roadside Assistance so that we can get a tow if we ever have an issue. I don't expect to ever need it, but we have it for peace of mind. We're in Seattle. Always wise to call around with insurance, but I'd definitely have Progressive on that list to contact.

Geico in Tampa, FL - just under $300 year (includes $5,000 medical payments and $250 deductible comp and collision).

I was formerly with a company called U.S. Insurance Services and they were about $65 month for the same coverage.

For the same coverage Progressive wanted approximately $1000 year!!

For the same coverage on my scooter kept at area code 90020, progressive wanted almost $900 a year. It really depends on where you live

Good luck getting Progressive to pay out, theyre one of the worst rated insurance companies to deal with. Liberty Mutual $182 a year for 100,000/300,000 full coverage.

I have Progressive, just added a 3rd bike, so I dropped them all down to minimum coverage.

I need to get my wife off the plan or have her get her license, her having her permit is costing us over $100 a year in extra costs. Right now, we pay $85 a bike for our Genuine Buddy 125, Honda PCX 125, and Honda Silverwing 600. o_O If she gets taken off the plan, the first bike's $85 for me, the rest are $35 each / year. :D
