Vacuuming gasoline out of your trunk is always good too. Hey! you can fix that for 500.00? The wife has been paying WAY too much for vacuum cleaners in my town :)

Idiots are born that way. You can't seem to change that. Then the Darwin Theory takes over.

I'm going to give people vacuuming fuel a break. I see how the first thought would be wet-vac but really?... gasoline, oxygen, electrical motor. People need to pay attention in science class or we are not educating the basics anymore. As for Tigers as pets, someone will get mauled. The nut doing a 100mph on his lawn mover is as you say a natural culling in progress.

Just a V8 and transmission.

Couple more who do what I think a lot of people might do if they spilled fuel in the car :)

SOOO, when I go to the gas station with my little PCX it is like filling a thimble as apposed to cars and SUV gas guzzlers beside me. I pull in, put my bike on the center stand, and a minute later I am done. I love the looks I get. I can't count the number of people who have asked me about it.
Most want to know if it can get up a hill...that is because there are a lot of "drunk cycles" around here. Those are the 49cc models that can't get up a hill. They don't require a license to ride on public roads, so a lot of drunks who lost their license ride them.
When I tell them that it tops out at 65 mph without any mods they get excited. Then I mention 100 mpg before I get on my trusty bike and drive off. That leaves them with their mouths open.
So I don't really worry about my refueling that much.

Seems to me that if I keep pumping to top off, I get gas overflowing the tank. Since there is no seal around the nozzle, there is absolutely no reason that fuel would travel back up the supply hose, even if it did have an internal return line.

In Australia there is a sensor on the end of the nozzle that shuts off the fuel delivery.
You can use that same sensor to recirculate the fuel delivery if you're a bastard company.

It would take quite the suction to actually rip us off.
