Removing rear wheel help?

Post by ese12105 »

Has anyone removed the rear wheel to get at the rear tire for replacement? I just got my tire in and after 7600 miles, I think it's time to change it. I'm just concerned about all the pieces that make the wheel spin. How hard is it to take off?

Any tips, directions, pictures, or help from the service manual would be much appreciated! I couldn't find anything in the how -to section so I'm not quite sure how extensively this has been covered. Maybe a thread in the how-to could come of this.

Thanks for any help guys!

Useful video but on the two rear tyre changes I've done I found there was no need to remove the mudguard piece, the wheel can be wiggled off and on with it still in place.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

I agree with GN2. Remove the exhaust, remove the swingarm bolts, remove the axle bolt, remove the wheel. Easy as pie. The mudflap is flexible enough to push past it. :)

Well... 7797 miles is a few too many miles for my rear tire... Guess I gotta change it now lol.
