anyone used dr pulley rollers in stock variator if so did top speed increase or stayed same

my stock weight in uk is 15kg on my 2010 pcx I was thinking of trying 14g dr pulley rollers

or would I after get a malossi variator and could I use without the conti spring and still get 68-70mph

Don't know about the malossi or the conti spring. But the torque from putting in (alternate) 13/14 gram rollers delivered much better uphill torque and pull at mid-range speeds (easier to overtake with a squirt) on open roads. But I don't get anything like '68-70' - more like 50-55.

Rollers/sliders will only help your "off the line" speed, not your top end. To increase your top end, change the variator and drive face. Period.

I definitely can't agree. dr Pulleys increased top speed in my 125cc about 10km/h to 112km/h. Only sliders. See on yt a movie how they are working.

I have to agree as well, dr pulley sliders only made the top speed go up by ~10km/h.
I installed a dr pulley vario as well, went for some couple of rides and decided to go back to stock. Reason: even on idle throttle the belt would catch and still give some power going forward, no smooth 'linear' acceleration as well. So now the dr pulley vario is just a piece of shiny metal lying around somewhere in my garage.

Reason i bought the Dr pulley variator: europe based so these ncy variators are hard to get and importing would cost an arm and leg on import duties .

Didn't you notice any improvement in acceleration with sliders only?

I brought 14.5g and only made abit difference but only a tad so going to order next month 13.5g hopefully they make a better difference on top speed and getting upto speed better

For information, i ordered some Dr Pulleys Sliders in 14gr weight.

Stock rollers are 18.5 gr on my 2018 PCX V4 (French model)
I'm using genuine honda 15gr rollers in stock vario for now, it's already way better than stock rollers.

I'll make a feedback about those 14g sliders when it arrives !

I have 13.5 dr pulley sliders in the stock vario this works best for me. I tried the Dr Pulley Vario V211501 as i said but it was no good. , for me 13.5 seems to be the sweet spot.

after installing the dr pulley variator and a couple of 100kms i had a lowside crash - had to leave the pcx in the garage for a few months..so i never got to updating that post but in short it was not a success, you can go ahead and buy a dr pulley variator like i did, spend some bucks only to find out it does not work as it shoudl .

This dr pulley variator requires different size rollers, so i bought the variator with 15 gr as it said on the website it should deliver 'sporty start' and higher top speed... nothing like that so that is the reason i went back to stock variator with 13.5 gr dr pulley sliders

It is unfortunate that you did not have success with you aftermarket variator but I still stick by my statement that aftermarket variators are marketed for better performance than the stock one. For those who find Dr. Pulley variators to not perform as expected just note that it is one of those brands that have not been discussed much on this forum, so you may be the test subject, so to speak, for this particular brand. They have a good name in the Sliders market though.

Another brand that has been found to work well on the PCX is Malossi. I believe there was a member in Australia who reported good results with it.

Here is a thread on variators for increased speed. Read it and you might get some insight into the testing that our members put their PCX through to find the best solution for where they live. Not everyone has access to NCY parts, so testing other parts has been common.

Hi everyone,

I received my Dr pulley sliders and found the time to install them.
After some days of testing and bedding in, here's my report :

Dr Pulley Sliders 20x15 - 14g, rest of bike is full stock.

- Very good acceleration, no lag at start (way better than 18.5g rollers oem, and slightly better than 15g rollers)
- Better modulation than stock, so better "dynamic" feeling (high rpm at full throttle & low rpm at little opening throttle)
- Improved top end, i havent hit the absolute max but i reached already 121 kmh in a descent (75 mph), with stock rollers i never reach more than 117 kmh.

The 14g weight gives a good pulling rpm, and moderate noise as the engine is not screaming either.
But i think the performance can still be improved by using some 13.5 or 13g sliders.

So there is a huge difference from 18.5g stock rollers, but not so much from 15g rollers.

got the RPM meter and max rpm while driving is 8740 rpm,
someone here said over 9000 is not good (valve spring floating...)
so it seems 13g dr.pulleys are ok, not too light to spin engine over 9k
and still give nice improvement in riding experience VS stock ones

Has anyone ever actually experienced valve Float? I come from the ruckus scene where the limiter is set at 9krpms. Add a CDI and you can cruise at 10krpms for hours no issues. Curious if it might be the same for the PCX

Sorry to bump. It's isolation you know. I believe rev limit on a PCX is 9300 rpm. I don't know what RPM one gets valve float/bounce.
The valve thing is mechanical whereas the limit is electronic so while a different ECU will fix one it won't fix the other.
If you are routinely getting valve float you need some Honda Sonic double valve springs.

History now but there was a guy here back in the 125 days pulling 11,000.

I can, with a small tuck bounce the limiter on my PCX on the highway. No valve float. Would love to know whether or not I can just as an External CDI and spin this bitch to the moon.

My Ruckus Days stock limiter was 9,200rpms
My stock springs head would see 11krpms. lol

From which online site can i purchase Dr. Pulley sliders? My bike is either a 2013 or 2014, non-led headlight bike.

How would I find out which is the correct size?

For example, what does 20x15 exactly refer to?

20x15 Is the size for your PCX it refers to the width and diameter. 13 grams seems to be the sweet spot for good off the line performance without too many revs and affecting top end.

Scooterpartsco.com is a good place to deal with. But I would check your local Amazon too.
