Re: Olympia Switchback jacket?
One final note on the Olympia Switchback jackets ... very comfy today, even with temps up to 97. And my wife liked the back protector in the jacket, as it made it more comfy to lean back against the Honda top case. The combo of the jacket and top case made her feel a lot more secure riding pillion. ...

Re: Filling gas tank
Considering filling the gas tank in the land of gas vapor recovery ... there used to be a couple of little gadgets sold that would hold the vapor hood up out of the way, so you could more easily see what you're doing. Not sure of this one, but I found it at http://www.tkat.com/gasthingie.html But th...

Honda Worldwide Home -- interesting design article
http://world.honda.com/design/designers-talk/cb1100/
This specific article speaks of the CB1100, but it's interesting to read.
I'd really be fascinated to know how Honda tracks my synapses and knows what I want just a few years before I know what I want.

Well-played, sir!gn2 wrote:The haggis is a very wily creature, they will squeeze into any warm little cubbyhole for a snooze.
A bit like an octopus, its amazing how something so large as the greater haggis can fit into the gaps it can, especially in light of its exoskeleton.

Thank you, gn2.gn2 wrote:The tank filler neck has a rubber gaiter surrounding it, this has a drain hose which empties out under the bodywork.
I checked ... my drain hose had some haggis stuck in there.
(Quick tip: if you find haggis in your fuel drain DO NOT eat it ... it makes the gasoline taste weird.)

Re: Filling gas tank
Filled up is at the bottom lip of the filler neck. I spot check mine as well. I also have a small led light on my key ring for my "harder to see ya days" (my eye-specs help too) :D and....You can wrap a shop rag around the filler for those shakey days There is no drain hose from the fille...

No, but ...you you wrote: Your bride? Did you get married in it?
I once had a buddy named Hackett,
Whose dream was a bright yellow jacket;
He wore it with glee,
So that others could see ...
Hoping taxis and trucks wouldn't smack it.

Re: Olympia Switchback jacket?
Wahoo! My bride and I both bought the Switchback ... local dealer had it on sale, making the choice easier. I've yet to wear it riding, but I am impressed by the materials and construction. The removable liner adds a lot more usability beyond hot summer days. I usually wear size Medium in shirts and...

Re: Organization tips for a group ride?
I'm pondering whether to offer up something low-key to attract some riders out into the country.
Dunno. PCX riders around here seem to be more task-oriented and not really riding for the joy of riding.
Thanks for the suggestions, chucktuna.

Organization tips for a group ride?
Hopefully some of you have taken part in a successful group ride event. ? If it's a route of 50 miles or so, do you distribute route sheets? Or is it just better to have a couple of ride leaders -- one for the front and one for the back of the group? Or both? Or neither? I'm looking for some safety ...

Re: Picked up one of our Forzas...80+ MPH Interstate Cruisin
Congratulations, Skuuter! I hope you also got some good cornbread, greens and beans to go with your coffee at Cracker Barrel! I wish that restaurant was out west. Why the Forza and not a regular motorcycle of same displacement? (I'd ask you in a PM, but I don't have that much mojo just yet.) Just cu...

Olympia Switchback jacket?
Anyone have experience with this unit?
I'm looking for a high-viz jacket for primarily hot weather riding.
Prices seem to jump up a bracket if you want three-season capability.

Re: Like these helmets?
We just bought the HJC FG-Jet helmets -- 3/4 coverage with internal sun visor and nice, clear face shield that is optically correct. I'm fanatical about that.
We like them. Nice ventilation. Decent noise control.
I wear an XL and it just does fit under the seat (easiest when I'm not wearing it).

Thank you, Sendler, great info!
Taz, I'm 5' 6". I sat on the X, but it was a tad too tall.
I think the F fits OK, but it seemed like the R would give me more wind protection and a shorter saddle height? Maybe?
Just wondering about the reach to the bars on the R.
