Re: Saeng Microswirl --- Anybody use it?
Thanks, jblye! The Ermax isn't nearly as tall as the tall Givi as you know, so maybe the Saeng won't be a good buy. I went back out this afternoon with earplugs. Vive la différence! So quiet, could barely hear the engine but the horns and sirens were fine. That makes 4 outings in the 2 days I've bee...

Re: Saeng Microswirl --- Anybody use it?
mel46 ---- Thanks, as always, for your insight. I'll certainly contact you with any extra length I may have. Just awhile ago I got a formerly used open face helmet out of the attic -- it has a flip down full face shield -- I used it before I got cute and got one with the shield that just flips down ...

Re: Been gone long time!
gn2 -- maybe that's what happened. I also have two sets of washers and I used both stacked together rather than one under the plastic. I didn't overtighten but maybe that caused the flexing. I might try the tall screen again ( obviously with just the 3 bolts ) , adding some 100mph tape along the bro...

Saeng Microswirl --- Anybody use it?
I recently had to go back to my Ermax +25 screen after a bolt hole broke on my tall Givi. The wind noise and buffeting is really bad even in town at 35mph. Has anyone used the Saeng edging and if so, what do you think about it? At $14.90 a foot I'd love to see some reviews before I spend that much. ...

Re: Been gone long time!
Screen edging? A product from Saeng perhaps? https://www.saeng.com/category.php?category=80 We have members that still use it (or have used it). It's Memorial Day weekend, so...maybe? they'll chime in with reviews (+ or - ) Hey WhiteNoise --- I've been reading about this Saeng edging. It's supposed...

Re: Been gone long time!
Whitenoise --- thanks for the reply! The guy being chased wasn't belted in, no surprise, and he got hurt but not as badly. Of course he had no insurance and he was also wanted elsewhere so my company had to foot the bills. I was at one time going to buy a CTX700 but for now I'm happy still on the PC...

Been gone long time!
Hello all ----- I can't remember when I posted on these boards last but I'm back with a small report. I didn't think I'd even be riding anymore .... in February I was driving my truck, minding my own business, and got T-boned in an intersection by a guy driving a stolen car being chased by the cops. ...

2011 PCX for sale -- Possibly
I'm ( gasp! ) thinking, only thinking mind you, of selling my 2011 PCX which I bought new in 2012. It has multiple upgrades including three different windscreens, a custom seat, 12v outlet in the glove box, handlebar clock, top box, Givi saddlebags, and LED lighting along the top box. Currently comi...

Re: Givi T-492 Easy Large Saddlebags
An Update: After using these bags for a couple weeks now I'm very pleased. They hold a LOT! I have a tactical bugout bag that I use for my work stuff -- it's loaded with my maps, nav tablet, small tools, etc., and it fits in perfectly, and my soft cooler bag with ice fits in the other side. The only...

Vamoots - if it doesn't work out for you I may be interested in it for my 2011 model. I'd certainly pay the shipping cost.

The company's website is from the UK. You can probably get it a lot cheaper than us Yanks.kundalini wrote:
I've never seen a Grip-Lock before though. I might have too find me one of those. I wonder if they do them in the UK.

Re: Advice for anti theft
That Grip Lock looks pretty good, except that they charge 20 bucks shipping on top of the nearly 60 dollar item cost! Amazon has another one, the Bully Lock, which looks about the same, and it's less than 50 bucks with free shipping. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/615KmWu%2BxHL._SL1500_.jpg I...

After having a jacket stolen -- I hung it from the handlebar, just went in the store for a few minutes --- I now lock it under my seat. I thought most bikers were an honest community but there's always a rotten fruit in the basket.

How is the wind noise with this? I was sorely disappointed with the Ermax -- it's now in the attic.

Re: Accessories in Thailand - rear shocks
Installed some YSS shocks - G-Euro offset, XXL rated. Cost in Thailand - $110 USD Easy enough to install, EXCEPT that the storage box has to be raised a couple inches to get the top of the shock off or on the bolt. That involves removing the two parts of the grab rail. Rear shocks.JPG ................

Re: PowerbyPCX seat surprise
Here's a pic of my seat. It's the original, redone by a top-notch local upholstery shop. It cost me a little over $200, but it's quality work, done locally, with a satisfaction guarantee. AND-- it's very comfortable. The Honda "hump" is now a nice padded backrest for my bony derriere.

Re: Givi T-492 Easy Large Saddlebags
OK -- Yesterday I installed the bags. They're BIG, wow! The plastic "stiffeners" -- flat strips that slide into little pockets, were a bit too long and I had to trim about 1" off the end to make a good fit. The BW ( Beautiful Wife ) isn't too impressed with the looks but oh well. I'm ...

Re: Givi T-492 Easy Large Saddlebags
I got these bags last week -- haven't installed yet but hopefully this weekend and I'll post some pics. Also got the Xpel clear tape from Amazon. My bags included 2 black bungee cords that you attach to hooks on each end, running them under the scoot to prevent "flapping" in the wind. The ...

Re: You what?.....eh?.....say that again?
I got the Ermax +25 last summer after a long, long, loooooong wait, installed it, and had the same wind noise problem. I wear a helmet that covers my ears but has the flip down eyeshield -- don't know if that's the reason. I tried the bending of the Ermax with the heat gun procedure and still had th...
