Re: Stop Start function oddity?

It's not a straight line graph either - the ECU / battery sense for start-stop is stepped in some fashion although ramped. Definitely sounds like it's sensing the battery is poor.

You are lucky, some find their batteries give out and the bike will not run, let alone just the start-stop.

Re: New Tires

There are several youtube videos showing how easy it is to remove and fit a scooter tyre yourself - fairly easy to break the bead and get the tyre off and quite easy to reseat. Just need soem rim protectors and iron bars - worth the investment over time - if your brave enough :)

Re: New Tires

Easily available in the UK i.e MCG £47 + about £4 delivery for the front. It may be harder to locate locally in the US as scooters are not such a big thing. Have you searched google or just tried local outlets?

Re: How many miles do you have on your PCX

In the UK and europe where Honda charge reidculous prices for parts and spares, of all the rip-offs the ECU has got to be the most outlandish - whatever is inside it and it's probably a simple processor and other components, cost to manufacture must be very cheap. Even complex electronics that used ...

Re: gear oil

Exactly, same with the Catrol Power 1 racing fully synth - you would not know it's been used. The manual states use the same engine oil for the final drive. It only matters for high end motorcycles where the special oil shares lots in common with normal 10w40 but has added ingredients for the purpos...

Re: gear oil

I thought the manual said to use the same oil for both (no special gear oil needed for the small final drive chamber as it has an easy life and oil comes out looking like it went in - after 2 years). Most of us use the same oil and never have issues - fully synth 10w30 / 10w40 seems fine.

Re: Replacing ignition switch 2019?

Good for you getting the plastics off - I broke almost all the clips off the two 'front inner' small panels either side of the middle bit on my PCX when trying to get to the CBS resorvoir. My mistake may have been pulling forward rather than to the side as both come off on a slight horizontal orient...

Re: 2021 Honda PCX "160"

Like the rear disc, not so keen now on the front ABS as never had issues with the CBS and much easier and cheaper to maintain. What are the big differences in maintenance costs from? Just what I have read over the past year from people where the ABS plays up and needs dealer assistance (ok with war...

Re: comparison of PCX/SH/Forza 125s

Any experiences of reliability/durability for any of these models? Although I reported what I had seen from users in the FB Forza group, it's worth while joining that and asking users opionions on it and reliability - it's full of actual users as I do not believe there are many here, mostly PCX 125...

Heaven and Hell - one of their best - nice melodic rock and great tracks. Not as keen after that such as Mob Rules, etc - for me H&H a classic.

Re: Security

Any braided cable such as that can be cut through in seconds by thieves using small cutters, which is why I do not use them for my push-bike let alone scooter. Instead I use a 12mm shackle lock (Abus) for the push bike and 10mm thick loop 2m chain for parking when shopping.

Re: comparison of PCX/SH/Forza 125s

If not a test drive it would be good to sit on several of them to see how you find them. I didn't do this but find the PCX fine, albeit 6 foot tall people probably look a little odd say on one compared to larger bikes. I thought the NMax was a bit too cramped for taller people of those with long leg...

Re: Battery charging - a few questions

I've read that lithium batteries, all kinds such as phones or thise used in shavers, etc, last longer if charged between %10-90 - about 3-4 times longer life than if run too low and charged to %100 all the time, just shorter life between charges. What seems strange is that Lithium batteries are not ...

Re: comparison of PCX/SH/Forza 125s

I cant help you with specifics, but I was considering the SHi at first but went with the PCX due to this forum and knowledge in fixing issues. The SH has been around a long time and has been revamped during that time. One thing I do not like about the PCX is the bodywork plastics - a real pain to g...

Re: comparison of PCX/SH/Forza 125s

The Forza 125 seems to be have a fair amount of issues according to many posts in the FB group - more so than a nth generation Honda expensive scooter should have. It's still good, but some have posted they are fed up with continual problems, not good for a scooter costing near £5000!

Re: Clutch pad glazing

For the PCX, pads from another Honda bike (lighter pads) worked like a charm to solve this issue, so that may work for you. I ordered them but so far not fitted them - been 1-2 years now as the original pads still seem ok with occasional glazing. I do not have the thread link to hand, but the feedba...

Wow - always impressed by peoples skills dealing with such issues. My skills cater for the variator, clutch and pads - would never consider taking the bike and engine apart!
