Re: Has CBS been removed for 2024 models?
For many parts of the world, not sure all parts, CBS was replaced with ABS for the front. I've had no issues with CBS over 10+ years and maybe would prefer it as less to go wrong and less expensive to fix, if ever needed.

Re: YUASA YTZ7S for PCX 150
My original Gel lasted 10 years and the bike is kept outside all year round (UK) and never trickle charged. Only replaced it as it was beginning to get a bit sluggish, which I put down to more strain since they put in place 20mpg limits most of London and endless red lights.

Re: I added a light weight Lithium LIFEPO4 battery (2022 PCX)
Not sure lithium are more reliable - my original gel battery (2014 PCX) lasted 10yr's without ever having trickle charge or such and the bike is out all weathers (albeit with a light weight cover). Newer batteries seem low quality judging by how many have early failures. The issue with lithium is it...

Maypole scooter fits fine with no tailgate box fitted (just the bike), or Oxford small (or alternative if a rear box)

Re: My PCX never seems to need oiling
Just checked mine. Didn't need any oil at all and oil was changed about 3 months ago. Still using original washer on a '14 reg bike.

Re: My PCX never seems to need oiling
Mine uses a bit of oil over many months (so check the dipstick every now and then, but not all the time unless you spot a leak). It's usual for some oil to get used - part of every normal engine and your lucky if no oil gets used up. I change my oil every year as I only do 3000miles/yr and max out a...

Re: My PCX never seems to need oiling
I believe most of them use a bit of oil over the year (from comments I've seen) but only a bit - checking every day/week is well over the top. Check after a service and keep an eye on it days afterwards in case of a leak, but just see if oil is collecting on the ground where you park and if there is...

Re: CBS fluid change
Don't remove them in colder weather unless you really need to. I did that and almost all broke off (inner front plastics to get to CBS reservoir).
Remove them and do most of the maintenance before the cold spell arrives, as the plastics will be less brittle and more giving.

Re: Reg Gas or Premium ?
I used to use Asda 97 Ron standard grade fuel and since the changes have been using their E10 standard fuel - bikes starts and rides fine all weathers and still shows 135mpg. It's proved to be around 5mpg less if you check litres in and trip miles, but still great for a 9 year old PCX (1st led versi...

Re: Best practice for long life
Agree with the reply above. My bike is now 9 years old, the 1st LED '14 UK version. Has the 1st service done for extortionate cost for an oil change and never been back as do things myself and get tyres changed by my MOT place (could even do those yourself but it's tricky to do that). Change the oil...

Most are very bad,but have always been that way. Maybe dodgy batches of them - not sure why Honda moved away from fitting MCG's - perhaps not all based of cost?

Re: Is the Michelin City Grip 2 a good choice of tyres for a PCX 150?
80Kg's. Bikes a '14 reg (9+ years old) and mostly 20-30 riding with 40 when roads allow. Loved the IRC's, went for MCG on this sites recommendation but it seems like it's softer formulation than many (which is why they like it's grip and complained about the IRC's which are hard) < I road in the wet...

Re: Is the Michelin City Grip 2 a good choice of tyres for a PCX 150?
MCG's have had numerous praise on this forum but I to do not rate them that highly. I had a great experience with the original IRC's - no issues all year round and they lasted well - 13,500 on the rear when I decided to replace even though it still had legal tread, more on the front. My 1st MCG rear...

Re: Grinding noise when walking the scooter...
Rotate the rear wheel when on the centre stand - it's always a bit noisy but if you hear a lot of noise likely the final drive bearing. A common issue.
Search this forum and youtube as this (if it's the issue) has been covered many times before.

Re: front caliper bleeding
Combi brakes - one bleed is for the out pistons (main reservoir) and the centre piston is the CBS system, and the reservoir is usually behind the dash and harder to get to (have to remove plastics and bits to get to it easily).

Also they started bringing out led light models, ones with larger fuel tanks, pre 2014 some bikes suffered from cracks in the lower casing or such.

Re: 2012 PCX150 Valve Adjustment
Most people don't bother adjusting valves and the bikes run fine for years - mines 9 years old, still starts 1st time and rides perfectly giving 130mpg+ even in these colder conditions. Many say if the bike starts, rides and sounds fine - no need ripping it apart.
