Re: fuel economy improvements
Hey everyone, I was just thinking that I had not shared my fuel economy gains with the use of aftermarket variators in a thread. I have used several different setups so here are the mpg figures with an average of half of the riding at highway speed of 65mph or more. Stock variator: top speed 68mph ...

Agreed, even though it looks in tact it will be losing you top end. i lose 5mph after 1-1.5k milesScooterMan wrote:Still dunno why you left the old belt in there. With 2500 miles or so, top speed will be down 2-3mph over a new belt. Go ahead and throw the good one in there. =)

Re: ? top speed pcx 125?
OK. these 12,5 grams rollers are way too heavy. The scooter does 110kmh (68mph), and doesn't have enough power to even raise the RPMs in the end. Can't handle the wind. You are coming up against the balance of power versus drag from the wind and changing the weights won't make any difference above ...

Re: Multivar2000
The screen Definitely helps my large frame get to a higher top speed, best 2 performance mods ive done is multivar and windsheild.danieljw wrote:the 2012 one should fir the newer 2015, same engine as the 2012 is ESP, therefor its giving nearly 10mph extra with only a screen added?

Re: Multivar2000
Not sure if they do a 2015 version yet but the multivar i have in my 2012 gives me an "indicated" top speed(brand new belt) of 84mph on the stand, 80mph on the road(slight downhill no headwind) after 2k on the belt its now topping at 76 mph. I have a ermax+25 windsheild, without that i'd k...

Re: tucano urbano grip
Hi, I would like to ask which tucano urbano grip is suitable for Honda Pcx. Do I need one with weight end or one without? I ordered some off ebay, the listing said for the pcx 125. after ordering them i read the entire listing it said "for scoots without bar ends" i have since installed t...

They dont work well in the malossi multivar either, reduce top speed and acceleration compared to rollers.

Re: Max speed, vario & rollers
You need to use the 10.5 gr rollers with the multivar, ive tried lots of combinations and 10.5 is the sweet spot, also as people are saying the screen will help, i have the ermax + 25, its a must in my opinion, it stops my large frame from acting as an airbrake! My top speeds are: 84mph(135km) on t...

I did have a recording on my phone but the noise could not be heard on playback, although to the ear it was quite loud in the end.iceman wrote:I wonder, is anyone able to put on youtube a recording of the noise made with a failing bearing assembly - just be useful to help those who may have the same issue.

Re: PCX clutch bearing issue
That is one of the reasons mine cost so much to fix. They had multiple bearings that were bad in the assembly, and the replacement assembly was on back order due to high demand. Getting the bearings out was something most mechanics don't have the tools to do, so they ususlly send the assembly to a ...

Re: PCX clutch bearing issue
The clutch bearing issue is common to less than 30 % I'd hazard to guess. Its a cheap bearing to replace ($22 plus $3 for the seal) and not a real hard job. It is by no means a reason to sway your decision. What tool would you use to take the bearings out of the enclosure? I have limited tools so I...

Re: clutch sound... help?
thankyou for your input, yes my bike now has around 350 miles so its unlikely to be a bearing i would think, the dealer said keep an eye on it until the 600 mile service, but he said all pcx's sound exactly like mine! Try spinning the rear wheel backwards whislt scoot is running in idle on the cent...
