Re: Nobody's PCX
120kph = 74.5mph which isn't "almost 80", given the error built in to the speedo (typically 8%) its really "almost 70" That's a lot of fannying around for an extra 6 mph... Well done! :| 120kmh is 74.5mph ,however in the script below the video says 127kmh with unworn/newish belt...

Re: made the move... gotta get the info rolling in here tho.
id say 1500 would get it right for sure. I know most people don't have 1500 to throw away, but then again, most people don't work 72-84 hour work weeks either. $1500 is literally 50% of what I paid for my used Silverwing I got a few weeks ago! And I don't have to worry about modding anything, it ju...

Latest addition (oh, and my wonky white rim tape but no pic of that). Finally got round to taking a couple of pics of the Koso tacho I installed a while ago (thanks to pcxdeamons help). tacho1.jpg tacho2.jpg Reading the great thread from the other side by pcxdeamon on his mods, now looking at upgra...

Re: For your consideration
I dont think so, i bought a perfect scooter, fits me like a glove and now goes like a pocket rocket. Extremely hard to find anything that would replace it as it is now. Also there are no penalties except 'small' out of pocket cost to get it there. What mods have you done so far? I saw you mentioned ...

Re: For your consideration
you underestimate Pcx so easy. I don't underestimate it, I know what it is and what is realistically achieveble and what the penalties are. My opinion remains that there is just no point in modifying a PCX. If you want to go faster, you've bought the wrong scooter. I dont think so, i bought a perfe...

Re: For your consideration
Can't believe this 125 discussion is still going on  Here we've moved on. Now PCX 150's and SYM GTS 300i. Even Honda Zoomer X but gains are smaller with smaller engines. Hey Demon. How's it hangin? Recently being purported here is that an older 125 may suffer valve float before the engine reac...

Re: For your consideration
I dont think there are 'that many' auto 125's that will do 73mph Gps Of the current crop: Yamaha X-max, Kymco Downtown, Peugeot Satelis 2 While there are plenty Pcx's on youtube showing big speeds i couldnt find much of those scooters you claim that are able to on youtube, also none of them is for s...

Re: For your consideration
When new, a standard restricted PCX 125 does 62.5mph. For a 125 a top speed of 73mph is pretty normal. If you can get it to a genuine 80mph with the ability to return 90+ mpg at a constant 70mph, then I'll be impressed. Well its a scooter with no gears, so transmission power loss is considerable co...

Re: For your consideration
80mph on speedo is 73mph GPS, so pretty darn good for a Auto 125cc. Thats a 'big' diff especially when you look at stock Pcx 60mph at best..gn2 wrote:So not 80 then.Pcxdemon wrote:80mph (indicated on the speedo)

Re: For your consideration
Slightly modded Pcx125 will do 80mph (indicated on the speedo) and yes its gets up there quicker than stock 125 or 150 with economy of 2.6l/100k....mine does anyway.sendler2112 wrote:I thought the CBF125 was about 10hp and topped out at 55 mph. The CBR125R will do 72 mph.

Re: :( So long PCX
You're right there are loads of generaic tuning parts for that engine but I'm leaving it the way it for now. Might condier a kit later on to increase the power up to 14bhp and spike the torque a little bit. Id just trade it in straight away for the 250cc and be done with it...Modding it you will ju...

Re: :( So long PCX
Why bother?! If you just want more power/speed just buy a bigger bike! Whats a 180cc going to go like? A 200cc + will just cruise by you....gn2 wrote:Not 100% certain but I believe there are loads of tuning bits available including a 180cc big bore kit...
