Re: Aluminum preservation?
Is there a picture of the part in question? Little confused about what it is, but I'm pretty sure it'll be cheaper to replace it. Labor aside, parts are pretty cheap for this scoot.

Re: Aluminum preservation?
Or RenWax it. Would do it on a new piece though. Not sure if oxidation on aluminum is similar to rust on steel, but it generally doesn't help the problem to cover up an already rusted part with something because it will continue to corrode.gn2 wrote:Or simply paint it with Hammerite, Plastidip or whatever.

Re: Aluminum preservation?
Actually before spending a dime, try have a look at the part in question and see if it wouldn't be cheaper to just replace the cover entirely:

Re: Finally, Fonda Da Honda is beautiful once again.
Stands for "Leaner" or more like "Loser" in some people's eyes. Personally I couldn't give a monkey's about the L Plate. I'm 30, ride a scooter and play dolls with my daughter...I have zero street cred. :p Hah, me either. I thought that's what it was, but we have nothing like th...

Re: Traded my Forza for one of these
Indeed a beautiful scooter. I have been considering buying one. Seems like just the thing for long distance perhaps with a topbox. What are your riding impressions to date? How about a first hand review for us Forza folks considering the Big Burg? Well, this isn't the big 638cc Burgman, it is a 400...

Now why would it take 20 minutes to take out the battery?

Maybe the Forza or a Burgman then?
The Daytona reinforced belt is available from Japan. I believe they charge less for shipping than Yuminashi does in my experience, but I suppose that all depends on where you live.

Re: Unsafe To Use Yuminashi Variator With Dr. Pulley Sliders
Hmm? Have you looked at anything in the 250-300cc class? I ride a CB300F right now. 350 lbs, 70 mpg fuel economy, does 80 mph fairly easily. The final gearing extension does you no good if you don't already have a big bore kit, it's like riding a bicycle uphill on 10th gear, you just don't have enou...

Re: Unsafe To Use Yuminashi Variator With Dr. Pulley Sliders
I wouldn't say it's a "failure" per se. Just that the variator in and of itself already pushed the belt out to the very limits. Adding the Dr Pulley Sliders simply pushed it out further against the case. Some product combos are not compatible. It's not the best idea to continually keep scr...

Re: Decisions, decisions...(new guy)
I found that pretty interesting myself. Highways are definitely no fun... unless we're talking about the H3 highway in my state, which has a breathtaking view. But highways are not twisties, so I wouldn't call it "fun" unless you're cruising along a nice desert road maybe hopping from one ...

The penalties are quite high for texting whilst driving in the uk. Here is an extract from a uk law website. In 2007, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that where a driver is charged with texting whilst driving, it will generally seek to prosecute the driver for dangerous driving, which is a ...

My gear held up well. Re: Decisions, decisions...(new guy)
My only concern is...will I get bored with it. I don't think so...but having never owned something so small, the thought has crossed my mind. But as others have mentioned, I do find it fun and sooo easy to ride. So easy in fact, I seemed to enjoy the scenery a bit more than I had in years. I think ...

Re: hello there, some advice please ?
Test ride would be good, unless the owner will allow you to take apart the transmission to have a look inside. Given that it's still somewhat new, it should be able to reach top speed of 67 mph bone stock. A lesser top speed like 60 mph could indicate an upshifting problem with the transmission. 64 ...

Re: First ride on pcx150 - rear tire "squirm"
If you're a heavy guy, you might want to bring the pressure up to 33 PSI on the rear tire.
