Re: How cold will you ride?

Very nice shots. Mounting these cameras is a real challenge with motorcycle shake if you saw my thread on the Mobius. I ended up with a chest mount and sometimes use stabilization software. It's supposed to be 50 F here too and I got the Forza ready to go during the lunch break. That is a narrow vie...

Re: Motor Oil Question

I like this oil/temp chart better. VISCOSITY: Viscosity grade of engine oil should be based on average atmospheric temperature in your riding area. The diagram provides a guide to the selection of the proper grade or viscosity of oil to be used at various atmospheric temperatures. An API quality oil...

Re: The left turn light hates me

We have one very old light and nothing seems to work on it. We just blow though it but it is somewhat rural. In Missouri the law is we can blow it with this guideline: The motorcycle or bicycle must come to a complete stop at the intersection, and the driver must deem he or she has been waiting for ...

It depends on the system your state uses if these will work or a magnet.

I think every vehicle I own does that as the muffler or catalytic converter cool off.

Re: where can you park a scooter

These scooters are light and maneuverable and make a lot more sense for riders with limitations or even the latest three wheelers. If you tip some big heavy bikes a bit too far there is no stopping them and it doesn't take much. Add that to an incline at a stop sign and it becomes a problem very qui...

Re: How cold will you ride?

Actually, I could have bought my motorcycle jacket in red and black too but I figured I might get a different color bike one day the way i buy stuff. Heck it's bonus time of the year again in a month. :P You are correct IMO in that while these high-viz colors fall into an order it may not always be ...

Re: Harbor Freight 1500 lb Lift

Harbor Freight has the big lift for $329 in today's flyer! Is that a good price?

Mine is for $89 which is $15 more than I paid.

I am picking up a round pneumatic chair for the garage since my other one is in the basement on sale.

Re: where can you park a scooter

I have a buddy who is 74 with two artificial hips and one needs a revision but he refuses to have it done (thinks he will die on the table) and is in a lot of pain. He is beyond the safety margin riding of his two Harley's but refuses to downsize or get rid of them. His wife has refused to ride with...

Re: How cold will you ride?

Yes - Steph talked me into that. I think it was about $40 on amazon in various colors (I just don't like the flour pink or yellow even though they are best visibility). It is reflective for night too although I rarely ride after dark.

Re: How cold will you ride?

I have a modular for winter and a 3/4 for real hot summer days. Modular is so easy to put on but very nice at 35 F too.

Should hit 50 today and 53 tomorrow. :P

Bangkok has one of the highest average temperatures year-round in the world I read somewhere. 10W-40 is a no-brainer.

Re: Motor Oil Question

I think the main point is that folks were taking the service manual too literally and thinking they have to use 10W-30 (which it states) oil rather than 10W-40 so they were avoiding 10W-40 oil products which are much more common these days. The decision to avoid 10W-40 oils may not always be correct...

I see handicap tags on 1000 lb Harley's. What's up with that? IMO if you can push a 1000 lb Harley around you can walk an extra 50 ft in the parking lot.

I did 136 miles last Saturday when It got up to 59 F here. :P No planned trip - just riding around. I often take a rural road I have not been on before to see where I will end up.

Re: Rear LEDs?

The Admore Lighting kits on my Givi V47 came with the Posi-taps but I bought a bag of Honda wire harness terminal connectors and tapped in using Honda terminal plugs and soldier all connections. It should be as good as Honda's own wiring harness. The Admore kit using a quick release locking plug to ...
