Re: It's Raining......

I saw a travel ban tonight and tomorrow for cars and trucks. Does that include scooters?

Re: How cold will you ride?

The stores often ask the customer what their head is worth in attempt to promote the real expensive helmets. Don't fall for it.

Re: How cold will you ride?

I have the GMax GM54S helmet and they have two different anti-fog solutions. One is a double lens anti-fog system and the other a shield that has a electric defroster built in. The electric one works very well in all conditions but you obviously need power (which is readily available under the seat ...

Re: Helmet/Phone interface/headset kit Bluetooth

I was just looking at the Sena SMH5-FM for about $120. Seems to have good ratings. The 10 is on sale for about $150. I guess I don't understand the feature differences yet among the models. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle-accessories#v2-facets%5B%5D=546&page=1&page_size=96&sort=featur...

Re: Days are numbered for my PCX

I just was looking at the specs on the 2012 Honda Silver Wing at my dealer and I realize it is a 600 cc engine (or 579) with 38 HP but why does it only get 46 mpg avg.? My buddies 900 lb 1200 Harley Classic gets 42 mpg with 60 something HP. Both are FI Twins. My Forza gets right at the 70 mpg at 26 ...

Re: Days are numbered for my PCX

Kymco has had a contract to build BMW parts and engines since 2011. BMW's were the first scooters I looked at last spring (2014) because they looked cool and were loaded with features. Then I found out the news on reliability. I only found out about Kymco more recently.

Re: Days are numbered for my PCX

I tried both the Forza and Silver Wing but my dealer indicated they were told that it is likely that the Silver Wing's last year was 2013 for the US. He said they are hearing of a beefed up Forza coming to the US for maybe 2016 but I think that is only a 350.

Re: How cold will you ride?

Gorgeous scenery! Those hills are bigger than our hills. o_O

It pushed up to another unseasonably 59 F here. I can't imagine that lasting long. I pushed the new Forza over 1000 miles since December (136 miles just today). Got to git em when the gitten is good. :P .

Re: Motor Oil Question

In Honda PCX 150 manual there is a chart that actually tells you to switch from 10W-30 to 10W-40 once the average atmospheric temperature gets beyond about 50 F. It doesn't get clearer than that. It should just about end the viscosity discussion (but I bet it doesn't ). Of course it tells one t...

Re: Days are numbered for my PCX

I bought my 2014 Forza 300 new for nearly the same reason (keeping up on our scenic tours with larger bikes) but am keeping the PCX for camping where we haul it on a carrier. That is a good price on the 2009 Silver Wing. My dealer has a 2006 for with 3326 miles for $4700. They have a new 2012 black ...

Re: NCY Variator, Face Plate/belt and roller wear

Interesting post on variator tuning and belt wear for the Zuma 125. I think some of it applies.

Sounds like there may be better belts out there.

Re: A Simulator - Choose Any Bike

Even though the Forza has compartments that stick out further if you are real tall that could touch your knees, this accentuates the real difference between sitting on the Forza and the PCX. It is pretty significant and noticeable over a little time.

Re: Seats from Thailand

MP.Motor has that as their seat as their cover picture. I have ridden my brothers Kymco Agility 125 with a nearly flat seat and it is a weird uncomfortable feeling slipping back when you hit a bump given the limited suspension on that thing. https://www.facebook.com/pages/HONDA-PCX-GROM-SEAT/1391650...

Re: Honda Genuine Pcx 150 Outdoor cover

I don't envy anyone that has to leave their bike out in the elements. Even camping my PCX is always under an awning for a few days. Never in the sun directly or rain except for a few hours on a carrier. I think waterproof covers are a double edged sword trapping some moisture. I have breathable cove...

Re: U-KANAYA adjustable brake levers installed

If you search on "Forza Si" as FISH said it pulls up the Forza (MF12) stuff and you can filter handlebar stuff. Their search is a bit screwed up because that stuff does not come up if you follow the wizard by model/cc/etc. I even emailed them and they didn't tell me that. I emailed them a ...
