Re: Newb, hi there, glad to have found you guys

Cool. Wetbike gives 10% too. I didn't realize that. Wish I had known because I just sent almost $300 their way for a digital speedometer. Bummer. I think you're fine on the speedo. That's a cool unit (assuming you ordered the Kitaco) that you can't replicate at the dealer. I was just shocked at how...

Re: Yup, another guy hooked on these little beasts!

Ok, I figured it out. Pick a seat you do not want. Click on it. Once you're in that page, you'll notice a little button called "selles" or "stools" above that seat. Click that. It will take you back to the main seat page, but suddenly the wider array of seats are now available to...

Re: Yup, another guy hooked on these little beasts!

I just ordered that seat with black stitching. I had trouble finding it as well. For some reason, when I clicked on a button called "stools" suddenly the list of seat images got larger and the one in the pic appeared as a choice, as well as the black and white stitch versions. Also, I had ...

Re: Helmet Law

One day the helmet law will be the law of the land everywhere and guess what? Cyclists everywhere will still be badly injured or killed by the thousands. Meanwhile tens of millions of fat people and smokers will continue to clog our hospitals with their heart disease related problems. Our health ca...

Re: Newb, hi there, glad to have found you guys

I just ordered one today (seat). I rode the PCX to Home Depot and was like, yeah, this hump has to go. powerbypcx was nice enough to give me a 10% off code too when I emailed them for being a forum member. Well, be sure to share some details about your experience with them. They're charging 399 eur...

Re: Helmet Law

Got nothing against helmets, I wear mine all the time. Lot of things that can kill you or put you in the hospital. Being overweight, smoking, drinking etc. Those are all bad lifestyle choices that affect all of us. It should be against the law to be overweight too then. Perhaps. Good luck getting t...

Re: Helmet Law

I ride a bicycle a fair bit. One thing I've noticed pretty consistently is that about 50% of people driving cars at any given time are looking down at their phone texting. This is especially true at traffic lights. If you're lucky, half the people are paying attention. People pass me in town all the...

Re: Game Changing Power Increase on 2015's?

but its such an ugly spud... I would step right through it to get to the PCX :o Honestly, I think it looks pretty similar. It will be interesting to see how it performs. Given how many people here change variators, etc, to gain a few mph, if the Yamaha's slight horsepower advantage produces a 5mph ...

Re: Game Changing Power Increase on 2015's?

Perhaps more of a game changer than whether the 2015 PCX has a tiny bit more power is the potential arrival of this below. "Yamaha claims an output of 14.8 hp at 7500 rpm" Might be some stiff competition headed right at the PCX. I think they call it the Majesty S in non USA markets right n...

Re: Helmet Law

I hate to even get into this subject because it fires people up... All I can go by is what I see on a weekly basis. I work in the ED in a decent sized hospital. We see a fair bit of motorcycle and ATV traumas. I can say from what I see that people wearing full face helmets tend to do a lot better on...

Re: New PCX brought home today.

Thanks. Yes, I have been reading and absorbing all kinds of good info from you guys on the forum here. I'm torn on whether to humpectomy my seat or order a new one from poweredbypcx. I'll probably order new and keep the old one so that if I sell the scoot someday I can return it to stock. I may try ...

Donated. I've already gotten more value from the knowledge bank here in the first 48 hours of owning a PCX. Great resource.

Yeah, the stock seat sucks. Time to de-hump it or order from Thailand.

Brought it home this afternoon.

New PCX brought home today.

It's home. Had to work a bit to track down a remaining red one. Red was sentimental in that my first cycle was a Honda Aero 80 the same color 30 years ago. Only complaint so far is the hump. A humpectomy or replacement seat is a must. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e40/mbrickell/P9170060_zps4b83b...
